I would like to thank you for the immense support you have shown me on this journey to the polls. We have come a long way from our first ANN community engagement last year, to the overwhelming response from the BBC Debate last week. Yet, we still have more grounds to cover.
On Feb 16, we decide where we go as a country. This is an opportunity to rewrite the future and we cannot make choices in this election as we have in previous ones. As our youth roam the streets in search of non-existent jobs, and more children die from avoidable deaths, we must take our part to play more seriously.
I, Ferdy Ladi Adimefe, running under ANN for the Federal House of Representatives, seek your votes to serve the Eti-Osa constituency of Lagos State. I believe that I possess the right mix of competence, character, influence and capacity to represent you best.
I have invested over a decade in policy research and formulation, youth and community development. I was selected as one of the Ford Foundation Fifty to draw up a blueprint for Nigeria for the next 50 years in 2009.
My deep passion for the development of human capacity in Africa inspired me to start the Conversations for Change - a forum for private sector shaping conversations and the Creative Nigeria Project - a vehicle for empowering youths in the creative sector. This has been accompanied by other portals for community service and engagement such as The Slum 2 School Africa initiative, where I sit as a board member, as well as the Avante-Garde Interface Foundation.
I also serve on the Nigerian Economic Summit Group committee on Innovation and Technology discourses for Nigeria. I am a recipient of several awards and recognitions such as the "Nigeria's Future 100" by the president of the federal republic of Nigeria himself.
A naturally gifted communicator, I have authored two books - You Can Do Better (2006), and Pulse (2011), and have contributed countless papers and articles in local and international publications.
I have built three successful businesses in the last couple of years, with one recognized recently by Businessday as one of the 100 fast-growing SMEs in Nigeria (2018). - 1 year ago
