✨WHAT ARE YOUR VALUES?✨
Our values are the standards + principles we live by. They reflect what is important to you, and keep you grounded while navigating the 1001+ decisions we make every day. As frequently as I’ve come across this question, I’m just now becoming clear about what MY values are. We get a lot of input from family, friends, media- and it can be hard to know what your own voice sounds like and what your heart actually yearns for. Sometimes we move away from our values when they don’t match up to others’ beliefs and we lose ourselves. I’ve rededicated myself to living authentically and not apologizing for it! 💕Invitation: spend 10 minutes reflecting on what matters most to you in life, write them down or share below! Here are some of the things i value most:
✨JOY- if my life’s work doesn’t make me inspired, motivated, and happy it won’t last. I wont last without joy.
✨FREEDOM- the ♐️ in me demands space to be creative and explore. And the liberation of Black bodies (therefore, us all) is the ultimate MO. Duh.
✨COMMUNITY- intentional relationship means surviving + thriving. Loving others makes my heart beat.
✨STABILITY- as wild and free as i like to be, nothing seems to matter when im in the crisis of survival. I work hard to create as much stability as i can.
✨LEARNING- in + out the classroom. I love to stay curious, observe, listen, and experiment with new ways of knowing and being in the world.
