Hey, if Lebron still works on the basics, I can always benefit from reviewing facts I take for granted

When you think of the human body, you’re typically thinking of what’s known as the Musculoskeletal (MSK) System. Of course there are many other systems that keep us alive & thriving, but MSK is my wheelhouse.

It includes:
🦴 Bones (206)
💪🏼 Muscles (640 individual, typically in pairs)
🦴 Cartilage
💪🏼 Tendons
🦴 Ligaments
💪🏼 Connective Tissue
🦴 Joints

Bones and muscles are the “meat and potatoes” and typically common knowledge to most people. The rest of the structures are what allow our bodies to function properly (or improperly) and may have less of an overall understanding.

So let’s clear this up!

CARTILAGE 🦴
Cartilage is a smooth, rubber-like padding found on the ends of your bones • It’s main job is to protect our bones by preventing them from rubbing together when we move • There are 3 types of cartilage, so it can also be found in between the bones of your spine & in your ears!

TENDONS 💪🏼
Tendons are what connect our muscles to our bones • They’re stretchy and feel almost cord-like • Tendons are best at withstanding “tensile forces”, so anything that’s stretching or providing tension across the muscle or tendon • Injury = STRAIN (more of a stretch / elongation) • If you poke around on the back side of your knee, you should feel something like a thick guitar string on either side.. those are your hamstring tendons!

LIGAMENTS 🦴
Ligaments connect our bones to our bones • They also protect against tensile forces, but aren’t nearly as stretchy • Injury = SPRAIN (more of a tear / ripping) • You won’t be able to feel this, but your ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) is a commonly known ligament! *continued in comments*

Fuck all those time I've been lazy. All those times I've not gone in 110 percent. The moments of doubt. Of despair. The bullshit choices of retreat in the face of adversity.

I've done a lot and some crazy stuff in crazy times. We all do. But none of it means shit compared to the times I've persevered. -
The times with the sweat raining down, burning my eyes because there was no other option but to survive. To succeed.

Certain moments, for me, transcend time. And it is in these moments that I reminisce and reflect on life-changing events. It is SO IMPORTANT that you all take a few minutes daily to show gratitude for where you are. As I enjoy another gorgeous Hawaiian sunset, I think about how close I was to not taking the opportunity to learn a business that changed the course of my family’s life, forever.

Business has opened so many doors for me, and doors mean opportunity. Sometimes, opportunity knocks. Most of the time though, you must go to it. Whichever one happens, make sure that you are ready to RECEIVE the opportunity placed before you, because it could be your one shot at the BIGTIME. Be smart enough to recognize it, and capitalize!

Too many of us think about things far too much, and it convolutes our minds into switching to “defense mode”. You see, human beings take defensive approaches toward things they do not understand, and that includes rejecting opportunities that may be good for them.

For that reason, when a great one is presented to you, say YES immediately, then learn how to figure it out afterward. Don’t give yourself the chance to think too much. As long as it makes sense theoretically and systematically, roll with it! It could be your last stop! You literally are ONE DECISION away from a completely different life!

Each day we should keep a grateful heart that we are able to choose what we eat, to exercise for hobby and sport, and to rest and care for our bodies in a way that many others can't. It's been said that you are more than the number on the scale or the number on the tag of your jeans, but you are also much, much more than the numbers on your My Fitness Pal app, the number of pounds you can squat, or the number of minutes you've racked up on the treadmill. 💯

Your progress in your health goals is in your own hands, but it's important to keep things in perspective. Long-term consistency and effort is what it takes to make progress, and frequent slip-ups can be a barrier to success, but we are all only human. 😊

This move is really hard for me and so far it hasn’t gotten any easier😅💯 BUT, THERE IS NEW @ladygaga MUSIC OUT ((Stupid Love)) and it has me feeling inspired and READY to get after it today, so I wanted to tackle this move and PRACTICE it while I was feeling pumped!!😈🙌🏾⚡️ It’s not perfect but I’m making progress and that’s what it’s about for me!! Working on correctly using my core to maintain engagement throughout the exercise versus allowing my shoulders/arms to take over—easier said than done lol but again PRACTICE and PROGRESS, not PERFECTION. new place.... new things to do.

needed to find a gym around the hotel to hold me over until i got back home.

shopped around for a decent day rate and found this jewel. place was absolutely amazing and was definitely one of my favorite gyms of all time.

whatever your needs you will be catered to by a staff of friendly individuals. and if you cant get your workout done there then you cant get it done anywhere.
