Perfection. 
Is it attainable? No. Is it worth trying for? Yes.

One thing I struggle with in life is holding myself to high standards. Whether it be in  my business - always pushing projects to a high standard or expecting the most out of my employees, personal improvement, in my relationships (business and intimate), etc. 
Sometimes I dont feel satisfied with myself when things aren't "perfect." This can be looked at in two ways.

Well for one, I need to be better at realizing perfection isn't attainable. And realize its OKAY to not be perfect - life is a journey and that's what makes it worthwhile.  But when I come to the realization perfection isn't attainable, and that although it isn't, I'm going to work my ass off to get as close to it as I can, I have won. I woke up today, I was able to put food in my belly, I was able to walk, I have a roof over my head, I have a full head of hair after 40, I have an amazing wife, I have an awesome son, I can bench 3/4 my bodyweight, I can squat my bodyweight.
These are just some of the things I am grateful for. Look around and realize how much you have and you will begin to see how lucky you are.

New squat rack, who dis?!⠀

My gym got some new racks and platforms today, so I figured I would need to put them to use! Do the colored bumpers automatically make me a crossfitter? 🤣⠀

In actuality, this was the only reason why I was excited today for leg day. ⠀
⠀
Did 5 sets of 3 reps at 275lbs.⠀
⠀
Then I worked my way up to a 245lb front squat, which I haven't done a front squat in at least a year and a half I feel like.⠀
⠀
When I woke up today, I wasn't feeling legs. To be honest, I'm not usually feeling leg day at 6am. But, I have to push through it.⠀
⠀
How? I choose to. That's it.⠀
⠀
The only way we're going to get better is by doing the things we don't like doing. We like things that we're good at.⠀
⠀
By all accounts, I don't feel like I'm good at leg day. That's why I don't like doing it. I don't like to struggle. I've had enough of that shit in my life.⠀
⠀
But struggle is where I've always grown. It's where I always develop the fiber of my character.⠀
⠀
It says a lot about a person who can have discipline themselves to do the things that cause them to struggle.⠀
⠀
So, next time you say "I don't want to do that," check yourself on it. Do what you say you don't want to do. Report back to me how you feel afterwards. I bet that you'll feel accomplished or some other sort of positive emotion. ⠀

I eat a salad as big as my head almost everyday, but not your normal run of the mill salads.  Salads are on the top of my list of favorite foods-add a piece of salmon🥰🤤💙

When I order out I am that person that ask to have stuff left off, “no oil please”, “no dressing please”...& for good reason.

Salmon salads can have great calorie & fat counts and CAN NOT!  The calorie range for Salmon Salads from two popular restaurants in our area ranged from 530-729 & the fats 29g-40g!🤯
•
Asking your server to leave off the cheese, oil, dressing, nuts & granola or put them on the side so you can put the amount you really want on there are some great tips to cut out ALL the extras you might not really want to eat.

Baked Salmon🐠 with Zucchini Noodle Salad
•
2 tbsp red quinoa•85 grams butternut squash•4 ounces of salmon baked with Cajun Seasoning or Seasoning of your choice•1 tbsp chopped pecans•2 tbsp yellow onion•57 grams mini sweet peppers•100 grams zucchini noodles•1 cup fresh spinach•1 tbsp Pomegranate arils

Cook quinoa.  I always cook mine 1 part quinoa 3 parts cold water. Starting with cold water helps the quinoa bloom (same for oatmeal). I usually cook 1/2 cup of dry at one time & use throughout the week.

Toast 1 tbsp of chopped pecans in a dry skillet.  Don’t skip this step-don’t walk away⏳

Bake butternut squash (season with salt & pepper-add cooking spray) on 475 degrees convection for 5 minutes•at this point put your salmon on the sheet pan with the butternut squash. Bake for 5 additional minutes (or until desired temperature for your salmon).
•
Spray a small skillet & sauté the onions & peppers with Cajun Seasoning until tender.  Add zucchini noodles to warm through or add your zucchini noodles to a microwave safe bowl-sprinkle with your seasoning-add water to your bowl just to the bottom of the noodles-microwave for 1-2 minutes until tender-drain.

Toss all your salad ingredients together in a bowl. Serve with your baked salmon & ENJOY🥰

When you wake up & move & feel SO GOOD.

I have finally gotten back into my running routine & I feel unstoppable. It helps me maximize my day so much more.

A year ago, everything was different. And now that I look back, I realize that a year can do a lot to a person. I have learned that hard work triumphs everything.

The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is I'm not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be out-worked, period. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, you might be sexier than me, you might be all of those things you got it on me in nine categories. But if we get on the treadmill together, there's two things: You're getting off first, or I'm going to die. It's really that simple, right?

You're not going to out-work me. It's such a simple, basic concept. The guy who is willing to hustle the most is going to be the guy that just gets that loose ball. The majority of people who aren't getting the places they want or aren't achieving the things that they want in this business is strictly based on hustle. I made it through a 12 hour shift and a 1hour workout at @orangetheory! 
I really didn't want to go but I knew I needed to go and so I did. I went even though I was tired. And I pushed myself harder than I did last round. And I feel good. 
Don't forget that @1stphorm post workout nutrition!

Most importantly, I survived the grocery store 🤣🤣🤣. If you still need your milk and bread, my local store seemed stocked. Funny enough I needed neither of them. 😆

Life is funny the way it works out, but I’ve learned to just roll with it and enjoy the ride.

What keeps you accountable everyday?

What reason or reasons do you wake up at the same time each morning with the mindset of "I'm going to win today". I know for me personally,

It was always answering the question.. "Am I good enough?" A question I've had to ask myself many many times.

And a question that has kept me from trying and achieving things I should have easily been able to achieve.

But we need those types of questions.

We don't necessarily have to believe them.. But we need them each day as a fire behind us to make sure that we don't ever just "settle" where we are.

Waking up early is not easy, but we do it because we know it's going to make us more productive in the day.

Tracking macros is not easy, but we do it because we know that if we just stick to a plan for awhile, then that dream body we always wanted won't be just a dream anymore.

We do the hard things because we know they are good for us in the end.

But sometimes I feel like we get in such a rhythm that we lose sight of why we started in the first place.

And that's important to know because it allows us to look back and see how far we have came.

See all the challenges we overcame and the odds that we beat.

Having a reason "why" is what allows us to continue to never be satisfied with where we are.

We can be proud of where we are.. But never satisfied.

Because we always want to be better and better.

There is no limit to what we want.

And there is no reason to ever stop trying to achieve everything that we want.

I've always loved education... it’s like part of my DNA.

Whether doing self education...
.
being taught things ...
.
teaching things...
.
I love the education process.
.
I see it as more than just facts or statements.
.
To me, it's a transfer of power.
.
It give you the opportunity to take the information and create a better life... and as you teach more, you help others do the same.
.
For me, my main passion lies is in the fitness space.
.
Don't get my wrong, I love teaching the kiddos too as that is what my degree is in... but what changed my life was learning and educating myself about fitness.
.
Growing up fat, self conscious, and confused on what to do or why I didn't look like the other kids... I took it upon myself to educate myself.
.
Figuring out a plan, Learning from others, and good ol' fashioned trial and error.
.
It literally changed my life.
.
Now, I am fortunate enough to get to educate and help others every single day.
.
Teaching all kinds of fitness related things.
.
But as a rule of thumb, I learned that fitness isn't that complicated. Training, Nutrition, and supplementation is not complicated and we can get very far with the foundations.
.
So if you feel lost, if you feel confused, if you feel you’re not sure what to do… I get it I have been there and I encourage you to go back to the basics.
.
Focus on fueling your body with the best food you can, move your body daily, drink water, invest in quality supplements where needed, and keep the mindset that results will take a while.
.
