Anyone know a good cruelty free dupe for the Mac Paint Pots? I've been trying out a couple other eye bases lately- but I'm really missing Painterly tbh.
Eg. For this look I used the Makeup rev dupe- the @revolutionpro Eye Elements eye primer in Core. But I've been noticing with this base, I get creasing and bald, patchy spots. It's weird as i've never had that issue before- like the shadow placed on my eye creases just disappears and won't stick to the spot after that? (And I know it's not these shadows as I've used Kaleidos a lot and they never do this). I've never even had creasing issues in general before, so I know it's this base.
I've been testing the Toofaced shadow insurance primer out as well. So far I like that it holds onto colour and shows the shadows very true to the colour in the pan. But I don't like the consistency and I can't apply it after doing my base- as whatever the emollient is in it breaks up my foundation around my eye. So I have to do my eyes first- which I don't like being forced to do if I don't feel like it tbh.😅 I've got a lot of primers on my wishlist to try (thanks for your previous recs! I've made a list!). The UD Primer potion and Milani one are top of my list atm. But I'm wondering if something thicker- like how the Plouise base looks, might be more my style since I'm not loving textures like the TF one. It works well but is just not my preference in terms of texture I think. So I'm keen to try that base when Glamraider restocks it.
Lmk if you're interested in seeing more opinions/thoughts on trialling different eye bases. I was thinking of picking up several to just rotate and try a bunch of dif formulas. Mostly since I'm still learning and practising a lot with eyeshadow to figure out my style and what I like in a base etc. 🎶 Tinashe - Aquarius
