Oil produces carbon dioxide when burned and is therefore not considered as a clean source of energy.
The government plans to phase out high-carbon fossil fuel heating systems, such as oil boilers, in the 2020s, and as part of their 2018 Clean Growth Strategy, there are plans to "phase out the installation of high carbon fossil fuel heating in new and existing homes currently off the gas grid". This means that new homes will have to be built with low-carbon heating by 2025, such as air source heat pumps. Our Ecodan heating systems are the ideal solution for new build homes and only require water and electricity connections. What's more, they can provide your home with all its heating and hot water needs, including underfloor heating, which is often a popular choice for new builds.
