Happy Friday Fit Factory Fam! Coach Sierra @sierrawhiting3 here again with another nutrition tip/fact!🥦💪🏻 Today’s post is all about FATS. Through out the years many people have become scared of having fats in their diets, but they are truly ESSENTIAL for our body! Fats help to lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, LDL cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, prevent atherosclerosis (hardening and narrowing of the arteries), and help to regulate hormone levels!! We want to focus on adding monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats into our diet. Monounsaturated fats being things like avacado, olives, nuts and nut butters. Polyunsaturated fats being things like seeds, walnuts, soy milk, salmon, sardines, etc.
Trans fats (fried foods, packaged foods) are okay to have every once in a while! Same with Saturated fats such as chicken skin, red meat, butter, whole fat dairy products, etc.
