Oatmeal Honey Bars
In a haste moment I decided to buy flavored honey, to fair they were going for two for fifty rand.
Honestly I had to get rid of the honey, that's when i decided to make the honey bars.
These are simple and so easy to make. These honey bars can be made simply, with just honey and oats or you can get creative in adding shredded coconut, dried fruit or chocolate chips, I added pumpkin seeds to mine.
These bars make a great addition to your breakfast because you can snack on them on the go.
Here is the recipe healthnuts
3 ½ Cup Rolled Oats or Normal
Teaspoon Baking Soda
⅔ Cup Honey
⅓ Cup Coconut Oil Melted or Canola Oil
2 Teaspoon vanilla extract. I didn’t use any because I had run out.
Preheat oven to 175c, in a baking tray making sure you line the tray with a baking sheet, foil or butter.
Use the ½ cup of oats to make oat flour by blending it until it becomes a flour texture . Mix the three cups of oats, oat flour, and baking soda together. Mix the honey and melted coconut oil together and pour into the oats mixture. Stir until all the ingredients are combined.
Transfer the mixture into your baking tray. Make sure you press firmly into an even flat layer and bake for 20-22 minutes. Once done the bars should have a golden brown colour. Let the bars cool down before cutting them.
