I have highlighted the importance and benefits of stretching and mobility drills in the past, Without which your workout is incomplete. Ignoring the warm up and stretches may not only invite injuries for future but also will create many obstacles in the smooth performance of your workout. 
Another important aspect is releasing. Releasing the tight muscles and joints. Not many of us knows the importance of the concept of releasing unless we end up developing muscle knots or getting some king of pulls in our nerves. It can be experienced while working out or anytime during the day at work or home when you are performing any physical task. Muscle knot can develop almost anywhere in the body where muscle or fascia is present. 
What are muscle knots? 
Muscle knots are small, bump-like areas of muscle that can be painful to the touch. The medical term for muscle knots is myofascial trigger points. These knots occur when muscle fibres or the bands of tissue called fascia underneath them, tense and tighten.

Following are some advance stretches for leg muscles. If you are working out for almost 6days in a week including strength training as your main workout then these stretches would be very helpful to make your legs muscle flexible. Make sure you are able to sit on floor with ease and bend your legs in all directions before attempting these stretches. These stretches are comprising of 3 main muscle group of lower body. You can hold each position for minimum 10 second and can gradually increase your timing to move towards progression. 
1: toe touch for hamstring

2: pigeon pose for glutes and hip flexors

3: toe touch to butt for quadriceps
