My aim is to create awareness among the ladies that #Menopause is natural but the negative changes attached to it are not natural and no female deserves to go through these unpleasant changes.⁣

Though there are many concerns, related to Menopause, that I talked about in my last post but one of the most important is the fear of Weight Gain. #Weightgain accompanied by an increased central fat distribution is common among women during menopause or peri-menopause.⁣
⁣
Irrespective of the fact that #Estrogen is important for human vitality yet Estrogen Dominance being the evil for almost all the human #pathologies , needs a separate discussion (a bit technical one).⁣
⁣
And it's not only the Estrogen Dominance created by hormonal change but the environmental factors, the food we eat, the water, the personal care products, certain medications all contribute to Estrogen Dominance.⁣
⁣
Estrogen makes #Cortisol and in addition to this excess fat in your body creates Cortisol too.⁣
Cortisol is a #hormone which does many tasks but excess Cortisol is very #catabolic means it breaks down your #muscle tissues.⁣

Have you ever noticed someone going through menopause losing lot of muscles and gaining abdominal fat? It happens because Cortisol breaks down Muscle Tissues leading to #Atrophy and then this excess sugar in the body gets converted into fat(specifically leading to central obesity) by #Insulin.⁣

UCT Enviro-Clean® HL-DVB SPE Sorbent Cited in Anticoccidial Study.

In a recent paper authored by D. Mooney et al., ((Journal of Chromatography A (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chroma.2020.460857), UCT’s Enviro-Clean® HL-DVB solid phase extraction (SPE) Sorbent was employed in the development and validation of a sensitive and selective method for the determination of 26 anticoccidial compounds (six ionophores and twenty chemical coccidiostats) in surface and groundwater samples at parts-per-quadrillion (pg per Liter ) to parts-per-trillion (ng per  Liter ) levels by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry detection (UHPLC-MS/MS). A range of different SPE columns were evaluated to enhance selectivity and retention of a number of highly polar and basic anticoccidials along with other non-polar coccidiostats and UCT’s Enviro-Clean® HL-DVB was found to perform best.

In the European Union (EU), there are 11 anticoccidials licensed as feed additives under Regulations 1831/2003/EC for use on intensively reared species, primarily poultry (broilers, turkeys, and layers), where the substance is administered in feed. 
These include several ionophores. The method was successfully validated for 26 anticoccidials, at four concentration levels, in accordance to European Commission Decision 2002/657/EC and SANTE/11813/2017 guidelines.

probiotics & prebiotics (aka dietary fiber)

i learned about this winning combo while i was working with a naturopath a few years ago.

when you combine these two together the fiber "feeds" the probiotics (good bacteria) to make it past your stomach lining (where the majority die upon hitting stomach acid) and into your intestines which is optimal for a healthy gut microbiome.

so why should you care about a healthy gut microbiome? whats going on in our stomach effects every other organ in our body including our skin. more specificially... one study (Horii et al. (2014) reported that with supplementation of the probiotic Lactobacillus reuteri in rats increased circulation and had a decrease in TEWL - trans epidermal water loss (dehydration in skin). this lead to the rats fur being softer and shinier.

in another study (Guéniche et al., 2013; O’Neill et al., 2016) volunteers took a probiotic (Lactobacillus paracasei NCC2461) for two months and had a decrease in skin sensitivity as well as a decrease in TEWL.

probiotics arent for everybody or for taking everyday. i take them when i feel imbalanced in my digestion and i only take them with fiber.
if you're not sure i would discuss it with your doctor before taking.

prebiotics, or dietary fiber on the other hand would be beneficial for most people to start on. when not getting the recomended amount of daily fiber, you're essentially starving your microbiome.

also ingesting fiber makes you more full throughout the day and let me tell you, my body is A okay with that.
