The way we make, buy and eat food has a major impact on our planet. Luckily there’s some good news: people all over the world are working hard to change this. During the Floriade Dialogues Summit on Changemakers in Food, worldwide food heroes show how they are helping to fix the food system within their own context.

Hello everyone. How are we faring?

Everyday, we witness the greatness of our women at home & abroad. These amazing acts form the basis of #WOWWednesday or Woman of Wonder Wednesday where we celebrate our own & today is no different.

.
Ndidi is a testament that our women are amazing bundles of talents, ingenuity, & inspiration to the younger generation & the world at large. We appreciate the immense work, Ndidi and others are doing in making us proud.

Again, we want to let every Nigerian woman know that you can succeed in that outfit or sectors of ours. Giving up should never be an option, we cannot wait to share your story.

How Africa’s entrepreneurs can innovate and invest to put African cuisine on the world stage: Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, Co-Founder, Sahel Consulting⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Over the past six months, I have engaged in a simple experiment. In packed rooms in Europe and the United States, I have asked, “What is your favorite African dish?”⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Usually, the answer is blank stares.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣In contrast, when I’ve asked, “What is your favorite Asian dish?” the list from the audience has been long, often including sushi, pad thai and samosas. I also gauged the audience’s recognition of Africa’s role in the global food industry, asking about commodities such as cocoa, cashews, yam, coffee and tea, to more niche products such as rooibos, moringa or fonio.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Typically, awareness has been extremely low—everyone loves chocolate, but most do not realize that 70% of the world’s cocoa is sourced from West Africa or that rooibos tea is grown in the hills of South Africa.⁣

The third meeting : session with the girls on Friday, 8th November. We read and learnt from the stories of #madinanalwanga, #doraakunyili, #glanischangachirere, #ladikwali, #victoriakisyombo, #bethlehemalemu, #sandraaguebor, #obyezekwesili, #patricianyekodzi, #moabudu, #ndidinwuneli #bintamasigarba amongst many others and their drive to achieve their goals at all costs. The girls are enthusiastic about smashing their goals even if it means sacrificing some self-gratifying acts or going the extra mile.
I encouraged them to also appreciate their body(ies), be comfortable in their skin(s), not feel unnecessarily intimidated by the male folk and learn to talk on their feet.
It's been wonderful meeting with the girls, sharing my story with them, listening to theirs and offering advice as the need arises. The learning has been reciprocal for both of us and we celebrate the lives of the women whose stories has been our daily dose of motivation and inspiration for these past weeks.
Thank you @ystarfound for this impact.
