In a speech Prime Minister Trudeau recently gave, he said that we all have a part to play in this war with COVID 19. He suggested to Canadians that if they can, to donate blood.
Today I had the opportunity to give back to those in need. My dad, brother Patrick, and I donated a pint of blood to the Windsor-Essex Canadian Blood Services.
Today was my very first time giving blood. My brother was making jokes the entire time and making my nerves go even higher. I am terrified of needles, but today I faced that fear. The Canadian Blood services had sent out an email saying they are in need of blood in this crucial time.
So I decided that since I was 17, that it’s my time. So I sat in the chair for 20 minutes, gave blood and walked out and hopefully this will help in saving a life or making someone heal.
If you have the chance and are healthy enough to give blood, call your local Blood Services office and book an appointment and help doctors save lives. 😁 - 2 days ago
