Just another pic of a mom and her sick kid on the couch … except …
This is not what I planned.
I assumed that when this one, my youngest, was in school full time, I would be back in the office full time.
It made sense. I mean, I had a couple of engineering degrees. I should put them back to good use, right?
We would just have to:
-pay a babysitter to get the kids on/off the bus.
-find day camps to keep the kiddos safe & entertained all summer.
-& somehow get a flexible job that would allow me to stay home with them when they were sick.
The more we thought about it, the less it sounded like going back to engineering was a good fit for our family - at least at this stage of the game .
Thankfully, this coaching gig came along at just the right time so we could HAVE OPTIONS.
Will I return to engineering some day? Who knows? I loved it, so maybe.
But for now, I’m thankful for coaching. I’m thankful that I’m my own boss, so I can “take the day off” and be home with my little boy when he’s on day 6 of being sick. <3 - 13 days ago
