I have a distinct memory of standing on a chair at the stove while making homemade donuts with my mom around the age of 8/9ish. She always made life fun. We grabbed a can of biscuits, poked a hole through the middle of each raw biscuit, dropped each into hot oil one by one or two by two, then pulled them out to dumped them into a powdery sugar glaze. Yum 😋
Today, I made homemade donuts for the first time with my kids. Although, we used a slightly different method (baking, not frying!), with some healthy ingredients- the kids loved them and begged for more, just as I remember doing as a kid (and sometimes as an adult, too 😬). If you’re looking for a healthier version of donut than traditional donuts but with the same yumminess, (and a fun way to spend time with your kids)...here are a couple of kid-approved recipes 💛 And if you’re not vegan, just substitute vegan butter and milk for the real thing 😘😘 Happy Saturday!
