✔️sauce from the previos pic (canned beans, tomato passata, garlic glove, chili, pepper, salt)
✔️50 grams cooked rice
✔️1 wholegrain tortilla filled with natural hummus, 5 shiitake mushrooms, glove of garlic and handful of spinach with salt and pepper
Cook the rice, prepare the sauce and mix together. Fry spinach, garlic and mushrooms with olive oil for few mins. Warm up the torilla, fill it in with hummus and fried veggies. Cut in half 🌯🍚

Massive bowl of dinner last night because I was one hungry gal! Tried out a @coopuk “GRO” meal as it was reduced to clear, and looked yummy. It sure was too, although I didn’t eat the tortilla chips because they looked a bit meh. I would buy this again for a filling and flavoursome meal. I did have it with almost an entire chapatti and a bunch of kale as well though because I found it hard to gauge how much food there actually was in the packet 😅

I was a bit stupid and left dinner too late due to working in the library, so I was ravenous, and then proceeded to eat more than I would’ve liked after dinner despite being full. My brain simply did not quite catch up. That’s why it’s important to eat regularly, about every 4h or so is my aim but there’s no absolute rule and not sure that’s backed by science or anything 🤷🏻‍♀️

On the train back home for the weekend now and I am SO SO excited it’s almost pathetic 🙃 I’ve not seen any of my friends in dayyys, and I also can’t wait to be in my flat again 💓

Ínyencfitnesz tízpercesek.👩‍🍳Mindenki időhiányban szenved, manapság senkinek nincs ideje minden nap órákig a konyhában tenni-venni. De ez nem azt jelenti, hogy le kell mondani az egészséges finom falatokról. Kreatívnak kell lenni, néhány trükköt kikísérletezni vagy másoktól “ellesni”, és máris gyorsabban megy a dolog. Az én egyik ilyen trükkök a “főzőtejszín”, amit gyöngybabból és kókuszreszelékből gyártok. Ha ebből mindig van a hűtőben, akkor pillanatok alatt összedobsz egy finom főzeléket vagy krémlevest. Persze bizonyos főzelékek és krémlevesek egyáltalán nem kívánják a tejszín/tejföl hatást, én is nagyon sok ételt nélküle készítek el, kizárólag saját anyagával besűrítve. De néha, például egy tökfőzelék (lásd a képet) vagy egy-egy sűrű curry esetében sokkal jobb lesz a végeredmény, ha előkapom tarsolyomból a babtejszínt, és ezzel főzök. A babtejszínt magtej készítő géppel csinálom, de anélkül is el lehet készíteni, alább el is árulom, hogy hogyan. 👇👀 A hozzávalókat egy 1,5 dl-es pohárral mérem, erre vonatkoznak a mennyiségek.

1 pohár fehér gyöngybab
1 pohár kókuszreszelék
2 csipet só
2 evőkanál almaecet

A hozzávalókat a gépbe öntöm, és felöntöm vízzel a “max” jelzésig. A “száraz gabonatej” programmal elkészítem a tejszínt, majd a “krémleves” programmal még egyszer “átmegyek rajta”. Szűrés nélkül befőttes üvegbe teszem. A hűtőben kb 1 hétig eláll, de fagyasztani is lehet. Jó sűrű lesz, főzés közben lehet higítani a megfelelő állagra. 
Ha nincs tejfőződ, akkor a babot, a kókuszreszeléket és a többi hozzávalót mérd ki egy lábasba, öntsd fel 1,5 liter vízzel, és fedő alatt forrald fel. Botmixerrel menj át rajta, majd újra fedd le, és megint forrald. Majd ismét botmixer, és ismét melegítés. 3-4 kör után kész a babtejszíned, csak arra vigyázz, hogy a forralások során ne kapjon oda az alja. 😉

Az éves öröm, a főzés varázslat.

What a fantastic read. This book is so informative; while it is primarily about the relation between diet & the leading causes of disease related deaths, it also exposes the broken healthcare system & how that benefits the pharmaceutical companies and the big F&B industries (which puts our health at risk)

What I love most about this book is that Dr. Greger presents scientific facts/findings and leaves it up to us to make our own decisions. Yes, he does have his biases (we all do) & recommends a whole food plant based diet but I think it’s important that we understand that ultimately it is up to us, to choose what/how we want to eat. However, with this freedom to choose, why not make an informed choice while you’re at it?

Did you know that authorities often don’t present facts and leave it up to you to make your own decisions. Instead, they present what they think would be “achievable” in order to not “overwhelm” us. However, what this does is that it undermines the public’s willingness to take charge of their own health & we’d all be surprised to know how much health care actually does matter to most of us (we are just uninformed, if not intentionally manipulated by big powerful companies)

All in all, I cannot recommend this book enough, I find Dr. Greger to be not only incredibly brilliant but also incredibly likable and has a good sense of humor, someone who genuinely wants to help public health. I came out feeling so empowered, knowing that I can be in charge of my own health. Also thankful to Mother Nature’s farmacy > pharmacy. Lastly, I just want to highlight that a whole food plant based diet is not only good for our health, it is also good for the animals and for our planet (especially in the face of the current climate emergency)

I wanted to write about this juice as there are differing opinions on 2 of the ingredients:

Ginger turmeric

There are those who say it's too harsh in the digestive tract.

Here's my experience.

I started having this juice to boost my immune system as people around me were getting sick with either the flu etc.

Initially it seemed that it was harsh on my digestive tract.

HOWEVER, I persisted with this juice as it was keeping me healthy. And what do you know. A few weeks in, and my digestion sort itself out. -
My bm's now are on point. Better than ever.

Takeaway: I'm guessing that initially when having ginger and turmeric, it may be harsh on the system, but that may only be because of healing 🤔 -

Im often asked “but what will I have for lunch??” when transitioning to a plant based diet. Well how about this?
Mashed avocado, roasted red pepper hummus, cucumber and leaf+rocket salad with a twist of black pepper in a wholemeal roll. 
It needs to be a takeaway lunch for me today so to stop the avocado browning just squeeze a little lime/lemon juice on it - delicious, filling and perfectly balanced with healthy fats, important wholegrains, protein and vitamins and minerals.

While pregnant I ate 6-8 meals a day (3 meals and 3 - 5 snacks) in order to keep my relentless morning sickness in check. I ate anything and everything that I could grab while juggling a full time job and family responsibilities and barely moved at all. Therefore my “little alterations steadily made over time” will include: ✔️ eat three meals a day ✔️ do not snack ✔️ indulge but be selective - go for the real ting in moderate - no “fat-free”, “sugar-free” alternatives ✔️ move!
