📢 KEY NOTES:
▪️ For the Bear Stance 360s  make sure you get into good Bear Stance form first before rotating. Flat back & engaged core!
▪️ For the Pilates Toe Taps these will seem super easy if your core isn’t engaged. They will be very difficult if it is engaged. Great exercise to help guide engagement. Laying flat on your back use your hands to feel your core (unflexed) then bring your knees up and brace your core drawing your belly button in and keeping your back flat on the ground. Engage those muscles all the way through your glutes! Now use your hands to feel your core once again. It should feel much more firm!

✌️ to say peace out to my last underage day, thought I’d share a little bit of my story.

When I was 15 years old, I started university. (@csun_edu go matadors!) I learned that believing in myself - knowing that I was beyond capable, socially and intellectually - was the key to enjoying my time in school. I decided early on that I wouldn’t let my age hinder me from having a completely normal college experience. People talked, as they always do, but I learned to tune it out and let my confidence guide my path. I joined a sorority, held leadership roles in various campus organizations, and pursued a degree in my passion. I was able to graduate 3 years later at 18 years old with my degree, some very meaningful friendships, and a whole lot of faith in myself.

When I graduated, I realized that while my age may have been the thing some people chose to point out about me; a way to see me as the “other” - everyone has something like this. We all have traits people can point to and say we’re too DIFFERENT, too OTHER. People fear what they don’t understand. Your job (and my job) is to ignore it. Believe so fiercely in what you can do that no amount of judgement, words, or negativity can get in your way. That’s the crucial lesson I learned in during those years, and it’s something I’ll always carry with me. I’ve done a lot of crazy things since I graduated, but so much of it is driven by my belief that I CAN and I WILL.

EXERCISE MYTH: YOU HAVE TO SWEAT TO GET A GOOD WORKOUT.

While working up a sweat is amazing, there is a common misconception that in order to get a “good” workout, you need to sweat. This is not true and can lead to burn out in some, and in others it can cause them to give up on exercise all together. Our body requires movement to stay healthy, but that movement can and will look different for everyone on any given day. If you have the mentality that you have to kill it in the gym everyday to get a good workout, or if you feel bad about yourself for doing a slower workout one day, it’s time to give yourself a reality check.

EXERCISE MYTH: YOU HAVE TO SWEAT TO GET A GOOD WORKOUT. . While working up a sweat is amazing, there is a common misconception that in order to get a “good” workout, you need to sweat. This is not true and can lead to burn out in some, and in others it can cause them to give up on exercise all together. Our body requires movement to stay healthy, but that movement can and will look different for everyone on any given day. If you have the mentality that you have to kill it in the gym everyday to get a good workout, or if you feel bad about yourself for doing a slower workout one day, it’s time to give yourself a reality check. .
