FLASH NEWS: PASSION CAN BE CULTIVATED — Let’s talk about it. We have all heard or have said it “It’s my passion”. And sometimes we become conscious about not having a passion. .
This is a painting by mother, painting is her passion. How did she find her passion? She tells me stories of how when she was young, her father had a “1-Hard-Thing” Rule, what this meant was that everyone in the family had to try out one new hard thing and commit to it for at least a year. Her hard thing was first Piano classes, she never looked at the Piano again once the 1 year was up. Her second, one hard thing was Kathak (Indian Classical Dance), same with it. This went on for a few years, from calligraphy to gymnastics to basketball..
You know what came next, art classes. In the beginning she didn’t know she liked it, she just committed to it and started liking it and that’s how she discovered her passion. She started practicing art on her own time and the years went by and from being the ‘1-hard-thing’ it went to become a lifelong love story. .
Her story is a perfect example of how passion is trial and error, paired with practice, and commitment. Passion is not an interest embedded in our DNA 🧬 🌻🌻🌻 - 18 minutes ago
