Another one from the other day 🏀

I apprecaite this is a one handed rim grazer without any dribbling but this serves as a good platform going forward 👌👍 When I started getting knee problems, way before my first ACL tear, I moved to a 2 footed jumper. If I can keep pushing myself through physio, this should become a lot better and include a dribbling. Pyscologically it feels so different to a layup but it really isn't.

Watch how I land on my right leg, all the hard work means it didnt buckle 🙌This is where the danger for me comes in when doing this kind of movement.

Until you are stuck sitting on the couch with an ice pack visualizing what it used to be like to get up and run or walk you just won’t understand this quote! I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to get up and naturally/instinctively do something but was STOPPED by my dreaded knee. It’s a pause and that’s when you realize after a long sigh of frustration, just how important movement TRULY IS 🎤⬇️ please don’t take it for granted again, even the little things like sitting on the couch in your favorite position or getting up to grab a glass of water, some of us temporarily cannot. .

🦵🏼 After I test to see if the surgical leg is within 90% in terms of strength and balance as the non-surgical leg (which I test at 8 weeks then retest at 12 weeks) I begin incorporating plyos (but still also doing strength work) into my rehab plan.

🦵🏼Personally, I like to do a good combination of force production and force absorption movements (first linear / lateral then I will eventually move to more rotational / multidirectional movements - eventually moving to more single leg jumping in preparation for the athlete’s return to sport). Working these 2 components concurrently allows the athlete to gain confidence and motor control back of the surgical leg before I let them begin running.

🦠With the coronavirus, things have shifted a little and we are just doing now (approx 6 months post op, what we would have typically done around 4 months post op), but my patient did his home program the last 2 months so we will be able to progress this phase quickly and he is already crushing it on day 1 of these new exercises:

Критерии возвращения в спорт включают в себя огромное количество тестов, но один не может быть достоверным для проф спортсмена. Некоторые тесты работающие в совокупности:

1. Силовой тест - прекрасно понимаю, что не у всех есть в наличии CON-TREX или BIODEX, достаточно дорогие тренажеры. Но это не значит, что мы не можем никак провести данный тест, есть динамометры, keizer тренажёры, стабилоплатформы и другие варианты оборудования с полными объективными данными. 
2. Хоп-тесты
3. Психологические тесты - есть очень хороший как ACL RSI и так же различные другие

Дополнительные меры:

1. Нейромышечный контроль - плиометрика на одной ноге с контролем положения тела на двух сторонах 
2. Биомеханика движений - несколько примеров, включающих приседания, спуск вниз и спрыгивание вниз на одну ногу
3. Eye-test - спортсмен должен хорошо двигаться. Они должны практиковать спорт-специфические упражнения с быстрой реакцией и сменой направления под наблюдением.
4. План последовательного возвращения в спорт - спортсмен должен постепенно возвращаться в спорт, что включает сначала практику и отработку всех движений и постепенное вхождение в игру. Должны быть минутные ограничения, которые будут увеличиваться по мере продвижения и привыкания.

Нет идеального пути возвращения в спорт, однако определенно необходимо включать тестирования, если вы работаете со спортсменами. Вы действительно хотите сомневаться, готовы ли вы вернуться в спорт или хотите быть уверенными на все 100%? Вот и цель тестов, чтобы достичь второго варианта ))
