Every Friday, as part of my college course I am doing a work placement. My work placement is at the ISPCA National Animal Centre in Longford. I am working with dogs, cats, horses, donkeys and many more animals. Mostly I worked with dogs.
Today I would like to share my thoughts with you. (Don’t worry this is not an adopt, don’t shop, post. But I do encourage you to get your puppy from a trusted breeder.) However, I want you to realize how amazing these animals in shelters all over the world are! They have been neglected and abused. They often had no safe place to eat or sleep. They probably could not fully trust their previous owner or fellow animals. They have suffered, all individually, maybe all differently.
But here is the thing.
All of them and I mean all of them are willing to trust another human again. They want to be petted, cuddled and loved. They try to do anything to please you. They want a safe place to eat and sleep. They would love to have another human being at their side.
Sometimes, I see dogs that are so nervous and scared and don’t come out of a corner and after a few weeks or months , they finally do!
I am amazed by their trust in us, although they would have all the right to never trust a human again.
I want you to appreciate every single rescue animal and not only regard them as difficult or a burden.
I have rescue animals myself and I know how hard it can be.
But the way they thank you and the way they love you will be so rewarding and amazing!
The dog in the picture one is of those rescue dogs and she is so amazing. She is happy every time she sees someone and gets some quality time!
I leave a link here to have a look at all the amazing rescue animals at the ISPCA.
Go out and share your love ❤️
