Take a look at this vibrant illustration board created by Game Art major, Destiney Polier! The artist painted this with various acrylic paints and created the hand with an acrylic paint pen. Here’s what the artist has to say about this project, “this project was for my Topics in Color course with Ania. The purpose of this assignment was to create a collage with acrylic paints (or other forms of mediums like magazine scraps), that represented ourselves through colors and imagery. I personally am most interested in organic shapes, along with natural elements. I find saturated colors represent me the most, and since I paint nature in my free time, I wanted to include it in my collage. In the gaming industry, I hope to be an environmental artist. Another interest that I wanted to represent in this project is using cross contours to create an interesting shape in the hand. A lot of people say that the eyes are the windows into our souls, but I’ve always disagreed, instead thinking our hands are (as strange as that may sound). Our hands can tell us how old or young we are, people read our palms to predict the future, and so much more. Overall this piece represents me and what I appreciate in our lives. The main take away I got from this project, is how eye opening my preferred style is. As a growing artist, I’ve been so thankful to be able to recognize what my preferred art style is, and with Ania’s help, I was also able to recognize my preferred color pallet and imagery.” For more great work like this, give Destiney a follow @art_of_destiney !
