Combined Feeding. Was it the right choice?

Before I share my experience I would like you to remember that breast milk is best milk you can give to your baby and as recommended by the WHO (World Health Organization), babies should be getting this until they are 6 months although you can breastfeed as long as you want to, 1, 2 or more years. It’s your decision and your family!

When I found out that I was pregnant I thought only about bottle feeding, in fact I packed my formula milk in my hospital bag. I knew all the benefits of breastfeeding, but was afraid of the idea of having pain or issues while doing it. However, when he was born I put him onto my breast and he latched perfectly! So, I breastfed 🤱 until he was 8months but I also gave him a bottle in the hospital while I was having a transfusion. I decided to stick to that since it gave me a little bit of freedom and a it was a different dynamic for our family.

Benefits that I saw on this:
✖️People that offered to help I surely took it. I had long showers 🚿 😆.
✖️By 6 weeks postpartum I started to go out with my husband leaving the baby in the good hands of his grandma.
✖️He gained back his birth weight quickly. Now, exclusively breastfed babies do it too so don’t worry! They make sure to be on the boob enough time to help your milk supply.
✖️My nights were not that lonely. Sometimes (at least 1 feed) my husband or his mum took over and it was heaven!
✖️He was/is still very healthy and happy!! After a few weeks (9 weeks old) he started rejecting the bottle making his way to be exclusively breastfed. But milk supply was well established and demand changed, instead of feeding for 1hr I know feed in 20mins. Slowly he took again the bottle and for a mum who initially didn’t want to breastfeed, to think “okay maybe a month”, 8months were an amazing experience and will definitely do it all over again.

The hardest thing to do...why is it those minutes in the early hours feel like hours? 
I speak to a lot of parents who feel the same. When settling in the night a lot of advice is to not speak or engage with your baby/child. 
With gentle sleep methods engagements with them are still so important, especially at night. It’s a time we all feel at our most vulnerable. 
That is not to say it’s party time with loud voices, singing, lots of bouncing/jumps-but eye contact, hushed voices to settle or a quiet song/sleepy phrase can comfort a baby more quickly. 
For help with creating a routine, settling your baby or support with naps or daytime sleep message me 😍💤

✅ SLEEP RITUALS as preparations for quality rest ✅

Moms, how you letting know your child that it’s time for sleep? As most common mistake parents do is fast (immediate) transition from active time to sleep, when baby not yet relaxed and can’t fall asleep.

When we talking about sleep preparations for naps  and night sleep time, how correctly to slow down the baby and give him correct environment, where baby will give a sleep signs and in result, will fall asleep easy?

Here we coming to co-called “sleep rituals” - it’s a strict combination of relaxing actions, happening in one room, every day and preparing baby for sleep. Rituals is to: .
🧩 mark a sleep time
🧩 relax a baby .
🧩 transition from active time to sleep time
🧩 needed baby/mom time .

For naps rituals are mostly shorter (5-10 min), where it’s longer for night sleep time (10-20 min).

What all actions call “sleep rituals” you can do, depends only on mom and baby, but here some examples: .
💚 Wishing good night to toys, pets .
💚 Close the the curtains .
💚 Off or dim the light .
💚 On relaxing music or lullabies .
💚 Lay down with baby on a bed .

💚 Do relaxing massage .
💚 Talk to baby in calm manner, tell a story .

Universal Studios & Disneyland are high on my bucket list, so this pic from @havebabewilltravel totally speaks to my soul! 🎬 And what's a mama to do when baby needs to sleep while toddler has the time of his life? Pop him in the pram, zip-up CoziGo and bam... 99% of light and distractions are blocked enabling bub to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Don't leave home for holidays without yours!
