I want to talk about G͟͟L͟͟U͟͟T͟͟E͟͟S͟͟ 🍑
•
I personally think when it comes to gaining muscle in the glutes, H͟͟I͟͟P͟͟ T͟͟H͟͟R͟͟U͟͟S͟͟T͟͟S͟͟ play a tremendous part!
•
Why?
Hip Thrusts optimize glute activation! 
It teaches maximum hip extension, which is one of the main functions of your glutes. 
This movement directly hits your glutes.
•
Honestly, I used to NEVER want to do barbell hip thrusts, because 1.) they’re challenging at first & 2.) they take 5ever to set up.
I started implementing BARBELL HIP THRUSTS about 10 months ago & have seen a HUGE difference in my glutes (all while eating in a calorie surplus).
•
I know A LOT of you are taking an easier route with hip thrusts. Such as the smith machine/dumbbells, those are good options! However, eventually you’re going to have to suck it up & do BARBELL HIP THRUSTS if you want to continue to grow! Get past the initial fears of trying this lift.
•
I see A LOT people having improper form during this lift, but it’s so important to prioritize it!

P͟͟R͟͟O͟͟P͟͟E͟͟R͟͟ H͟͟I͟͟P͟͟ T͟͟H͟͟R͟͟U͟͟S͟͟T͟͟ F͟͟O͟͟R͟͟M͟͟
-Place back on bench
-Your feet should be directly under your knees
-Make sure your shins are as vertical as possible & 90 degrees when extending hips -Keep knees pointed outward
-FULL hip extension
-Keep spina neutral (never arch your back)
-Always look forward (never upward)

PRO TIP: PUSH THROUGH YOUR HEELS!
(pushing through your heels instead of the balls of your feet is going to activate your glutes & hamstrings rather than your quads).

When it comes to losing weight/gaining muscle/maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it is for YOU. It’s a place where one can gain empowerment, self-love, & self-worth. Going in there, putting in the work, shutting out the world, focusing, & just doing YOU. 
Can you think of a place you go to multiple times a week that trumps that? I can’t. 
Some think that the gym is only for aesthetics, but also mentality.

You either want it or you don’t.

It’s as simple as that. 🤷🏼‍♀️
The people who want to see results will take the necessary steps to do so. 
They will hit that late night workout even if they’re tired. They will prep their food & make sure they have their meals ready before work. They will push that extra set just because. 
They will dedicate the TIME & put in the WORK because they WANT it. 
If you want anything bad enough you can make it happen.
FIGHT for what you dream of. Own up to the standards & goals you’ve set for yourself. 
Don’t put your goals on the back burner because you’re tired, you don’t have time, or you don’t know how... those are just excuses. ❌

You are worth more than any excuse you are making for yourself. Find a way to make it happen & start making it HAPPEN.

“𝙁𝙞𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨” and this whole “𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙮𝙡𝙚” thing has been the only 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 in my life for a long time now ♡ As I go and grow through many phases in life whether it be who I socialize with in friend groups, where I spend my time at work or school and onto the next, or even my headspace.....some seasons can just be brighter than others☀️⛈.....I will always have this fitness journey to fall back on to keep me constant on a track no matter my goals in the season. I may not always be in college or have the same friends in a few years time, but the gym will always be a place I can go to. I like to think the gym found 𝐦𝐞💫 Whatever the gym environment or fitness lifestyle looks like for you, I hope you find that ‘constant’ in your daily life that lights your little fire bb🔥 Go and find YOUR SPARK! ~ I truly peaked this night after winning my overall if you can’t tell by the tiara, the half eaten turkey wrap, steamed broccoli remains, and cheesy smile :)

Extremely happy with how this improvement season is going, it ain’t over yet.

What I want you to take away from this post is that building muscle is going to take time! 💪🏼⏰ Unfortunately, that may come with getting uncomfortable as hell, extra fat mass, & time away from the stage.

I’m not even hesitant about gaining the 20-25 lbs because I know with the proper training & caloric intake, there will be major improvements & muscle tissue gained.

However, these changes that I need will not happen over a “2 month improvement season” or a “mini bulk”. Taking a long improvement season will put me in a position for success, & in my eyes, that is all worth it to me.

Hang up your suit, lift heavy, & eat in a surplus. The stage is waiting for you with a new & improved physique! ❤️🏆

the first time i met you almost 3 years ago at ysf 2017, it was something amazing, and then i met you again s19 also at ysf i gave you a letter, but you really have a lot of letters, though i hope after you post something will change and you'll notice. Just because you chose to live a healthy lifestyle, doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself to the stereotypical “healthy” or “bro” foods. 
There are so many options to sub for foods you don’t like!

Me personally, I stick to meals I love on the daily. Like my oatmeal, egg whites, fruits, veggies, salads, & occasionally a cup of FROYO 😍. Well sometimes on the regular 😂, but that is what works for me!

It’s important to focus on the L͟͟O͟͟N͟͟G͟͟ T͟͟E͟͟R͟͟M͟͟. I believe the best way to do so is through S͟͟U͟͟S͟͟T͟͟A͟͟I͟͟N͟͟A͟͟B͟͟I͟͟L͟͟I͟͟T͟͟Y͟͟. Thinking that the only way to be healthy is by constantly eating super clean & never allowing yourself to go out of that range, could lead you to a restrictive mindset.

That being said, if a donut, cookie, froyo, or anything you genuinely enjoy every now & then stops you from mentally having restrictive thoughts or binges, then in T͟͟H͟͟E͟͟ L͟͟O͟͟N͟͟G͟͟ R͟͟U͟͟N͟͟ it will benefit you. So eat that in moderation! 🔑💖
