So don’t feel bad that what worked for your friend/cousin/mum doesn’t work for you, because everyone is different. This is why personalisation matters so much in the nutrition field. social media shows a lot of anti-carb ish (mainly uneducated unqualified ppl giving uncredited advice). here to let y’all know that carbs are not the enemy. you can freely enjoy carbs in all shapes & forms WHILE STILL EATING HEALTHY. yes you can eat pasta 🍝 pizza 🍕 white rice 🍚 bread 🥖. healthy carbs are not limited to brown rice, sweet potatoes, or oatmeal. eat all the carbs, not just the ones social media tells you is healthy or a superfood. 🗣

Healthy Meal 🚨 
Today’s super food is FENNEL! I made an awesome meal yesterday and tried a few new ingredients couldn’t wait to share with you all! 
On the menu we have 
Sautéed Fennel with chopped Swiss Chard. (Sauté the two veggies with onion, garlic, and olive oil. Add salt and pepper to season) 
Chick pea lentil rice with smoked summer sausage, onions, mushrooms and Gouda cheese🧀 (Boil rice, and to pan with police oil and sautéed veggies and your choice of protein, add a sprinkle of cheese, season with your favorite seasonings) 
Roasted sweet potato 🍠 (Roast for 55 minutes in 425 oven)

I used the chickpea lentil rice since white rice raises glycemic levels and can cause diabetes if not consumed in moderation. It also has a good amount of protein.

I don’t believe in hard core dieting and I probably never will. I definitely flux up and down by about 10% on how strict I am with my diet based on the season, but the actual concept of dieting doesn’t make any real sense to me.⁣

Healthy is a lifestyle. And you can go on vacation (god bless you @pollo_fortuneno) and dig in and enjoy, but most of the time, it’s just making small everyday choices that stack up over time. ⁣

They are the best cheat meal and so so delicious. My fav is to put avocado and blue cheese on them with extra meat in between the buns. ⁣

I typically eat a burger once a week. Because even though it’s not the healthiest, it’s so yummy. ⁣
⁣
The 80/20 rule for me, is what’s really helped me remember I deserve that burger. 80% of the time, I lock down the diet and keep it pretty real (fresh food, or if I’m eating out, healthiest menu option, no desert, 2 drinks a week) and 20% of the time I go ALL in on my biggest cravings. ⁣

Tonight’s dinner was a compromise ✅ Since we haven’t been feeling the best, we were tempted to ditch what we had planned for dinner (chicken & Brussels sprouts) and order something in. (Which would be pricey and probably not health-conscious.)

So, we picked something in between: frozen pizza 🍕& salad 🥬! The pizza was delicious — it’s a Sonoma BBQ Chicken & Bacon flatbread with gluten-free crust 😋
.
While certainly not as cheap and “healthy” as our planned meal, I’m proud that we made a decision that was better than it could have been. It’s all about balance 🤷🏼‍♀️

I remember standing there and looking around me at my friends bodies like “wait, what am I supposed to look like? Is being skinny bad? I’m not trying to be this way on purpose it just is what it is”

The truth is I was thin because I rode horses multiple times a day & was active all the time. I was strong & fearless
.
.
But... Comparison started to creep in. Then I started my cycle and my body changed and shifted
.
.
I didn’t start developing bouts of obsession over food and exercise until high school. I stopped riding everyday because I wasn’t competing and gained some weight .
.
 Over the span of my life I’ve tried many things.. probably subconsciously chasing that “skinny” body I had back in middle school
.
.
I don’t look at my past (& sometimes current) ups and downs as weaknesses
.
.
Those moments primed me to be an extraordinary coach. One that can see when women are chasing after something and dig deeper to figure out what that is. One that understands and listens because I’ve felt hopeless and lost. One that helps you find the beauty in yourself.

Been a while since I posted a meal. Enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed eating it. My diet has changed a bit over the past couple of months. The goal is to be in a slight caloric deficit. Instead of eating frequent meals throughout the day, I've been sticking to two or three massive ones with a little protein snack in between (to reduce protein breakdown). Why? It limits my snacking in between meals - meaning I'm not consuming excess calories because I am simply too full (which is rare for me haha). Of course my meals are balanced with all 3 macronutrients (don't want any glucose spikes) and I'm feeling energised for up to 4-5 hours. All in all, I'm enjoying this diet switch up. I'm getting leaner through diet alone, plus I REALLY look forward to my king-sized meals. What can I say - a man must eat 🙌🏾 -
