I always eat before I go to bed. Anyone who tells you otherwise is the DEVIL.
I always eat cottage cheese (slower digesting protein) with fruit (strawberries and bananas are my go to) and I sprinkle a serving of almonds in there for just a little extra protein, some fiber, and for my healthy fats. The reason I always eat right before bed is because if I go to bed even a little hungry, my sleep suffers. Not only that, but just because we are asleep, doesn't mean our bodies just shut off and stop metabolism. You need calories while you're sleeping just like you would need throughout the day to help power your activities. You also do most of your building during sleep, so why deprive your body of nutrients during the most critical time of growth? .
