🤍 Meditation (BODY) Series Continued 🤍
What is telomere and why are they important? 🧘🏻♀️ Telomere is much like the plastic tip at the end of DNA that keeps it from unraveling. These are little protective caps at the end of DNA molecules that make up chromosomes. As we age this telomere shortens and becomes weak. Other factors such as diet, lifestyle, stress, oxidative damage and environmental toxins play a role in shortening telomere.
Another one of Telomeres fun roles is it makes sure our DNA gets copied properly when cells divide. Because of what may be a kink in the DNA replication machinery, a few building blocks of DNA called nucleotides at the very end of the strand sometimes don’t make it into the new DNA copy, leading to the loss of some genetic information. This is similar to a photocopier cutting off a few lines from the bottom of the page. The bottom line is... DNA does get shorter and shorter as we age and as they continually cut copy paste.
Multiple studies show that meditation performed with intentions such as LOVE, GRATITUDE, MINDFULNESS, COMPASSION, FORGIVENESS & KINDNESS daily for 60 min have been associated with longer telomeres with people of all ages. Engaging the mind, body, spirit with rest & recovery while setting a positive high vibrational intention is like planting a seed in the best soil with ideal weather conditions that help it grow & bloom. The entire eco system is working together and creating beneficial results. You are the plant, the intention is the soil and meditation is the sun and water.
Meditations can be assisted with music, frequency, vibrations, mudras, chants, positive affirmations, visual aids and so on. 🤍 - 35 minutes ago
