Your hair thrives in braids when they are installed properly and it’s the perfect style to get when you want to hide your hair from yourself, but it can go real bad real fast lol.
As a braider I’m always thinking of the laws of motion from my homeboy Newton because my ultimate goal is to provide a style that moves and adapts to various lifestyles.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction you should be considering when installing extensions.
The braid extension is the action force and your scalp is the reaction force. The magnitudes of the two forces are the same when they come into contact bu the direction of the forces are opposite.
The third law of motion is a huge factor in braiding and you want to constantly balance the ratio of scalp surface you have to the weight of each braid. They should be able to sustain daily manipulation.
That’s a life lesson right there so things can move and grow properly.
The way you do this is by customizing the part sizes to the particular texture of hair you’re working with.
Anyone can braid that’s not the hard part, but understanding the science behind it is what makes you stand out. I’m still learning and science helps me perfect my craft 🤗 - 2 minutes ago
