I just made cinnamon rolls, one of my favorite things of all time to bake and eat. I also wrote a blog post about “trigger foods” and how, for many years, I believed I couldn’t be trusted in the same room with a tray of freshly baked cinnamon rolls because I thought I was an emotional eater with no self control.
The thing is food is very much linked to our emotions, and sharing foods we enjoy is an innate part of being human and enjoying life. It isn’t disordered or abnormal to love certain foods and nothing is wrong with you but if you have trouble feeling at ease around certain foods, it probably because you have dieted for a long time and demonized those foods.
