Have you noticed that if you don't do anything, life still passes you by?
When I was younger, I've noticed that I could spend weeks on absolutely nothing. The time would pass, and I'd look back - and I'd have nothing to show for it.
Don't mistake me - I wasn't free or bored. I was BUSY. Busy with "stuff", but these are activities that do not move the needle for anything meaningful.
I'm talking about being busy reading the news, or chatting, or watching TV, or any number of other "mindless" activities.
This is in contrast to when I found a passion or purpose or vision for something. It could even be video games (Counterstrike 1.6, anyone?), or fitness, or business.
When you do that, you find that you will get better at it. Whatever we choose to put time and smart effort into, will improve over time.
If you don't design your life to be what you want it to be, you're basically living life by default.
And that's no way to live.
