**WARNING: long post** I’m talking to the general population that is relatively healthy.  For the average person, going on long dirty bulks and long crazy cuts is not the answer.. REMEMBER, it comes down to the individual. Body type, goals, lifestyle, etc etc. .

Many female clients I’ve worked with were ALWAYS in a deficit between 600-1000 calories, working out 5-6 days, then wondering why they weren’t getting results. 
This is what happens; your metabolism starts to slow down due to lack of calories and all the stress from working out does not help. Your body couldn’t keep up with the demand. If you’re a chronic under eater, look at calories this way- Food is currency, muscle is VERY expensive to keep. If you don’t have the currency to pay for muscle, YOU WILL LOSE IT. Body fat is basically an insurance policy to keep you alive. If you struggle with eating, feel free to message me. I’ve suffered from eating disorders since I was 14 years old. I would be happy to help you and give you advice! .

As for men... Men (women too) tend to do these crazy bulks for months and months... After about 5 weeks, the muscle building signal GOES AWAY (unless you’re on anabolic steroids) and you’re left with more body fat then what you started with.  It ends up being harder to cut fat and maintain the muscle you gain. Which is why most of y’all look the exact same as before you started the bulk/cut. Be smart and be PATIENT. .

There’s a lot I could say about this side by side pic ... because it represents a lot to me.  And well my fitness journey has had a lot of phases to it lol.

I started this account when I fell in love with lifting, which quickly led to competing and then eventually coming to a place of deciding to be done competing and accept and embrace a not so shredded body.

And I guess what I want to say is first that I can finally say that I love my shape now.  Yes the shreds were fun and impressive and you never really get over what it’s like to see yourself that lean, but eventually I decided the price that you pay for that physique was too high for me.  I mean the facial expressions in these pics really say it all.  Left: uptight, pushing, sacrificing, unsure why, unsure if it was enough ... and Right: happy, chill, enjoying life, confident in my decisions and thriving.

And over all these years of my fitness journey, my purpose for having this account has changed and evolved and the audience of people who want to share in my story has grown.  And I’ve had overwhelming positivity from the IG fit community but of course as the numbers grow, the chances for a random negative grow too. (But don’t worry your girl knows how to use the block button 😉💁🏼‍♀️).

I’m so grateful for all of you who for one reason or another want to share in my story.  And at this point, I want to be a representation of a woman who is choosing living life over being a slave to body fat percentage, cardio and macros.  And I want to be an example of how a not shredded, but full and healthy physique can be beautiful and sexy and that you don’t have to have a six pack to be a confident and sexy woman.  And that is what I’m wanting to put out into the world at this stage of the game.

And last thing, thank you all for the positivity and support over the years.  And I want to say that I try to support others and put gratitude out there too.  For those that I miss or don’t see often or ever, please know I’m sending positivity for whatever stage in your journey you’re in.  And I hope this post gives someone encouragement or inspiration. We all want to show the very best of ourselves from different angles, standing in the most awkward positions in a perfect lighting… However it is not always as easy as you may think.

I often get my pictures in the first few shots but at times it can take up to 30 pictures before I'm satisfied with the right angle showing the best of my physique.

Monday Motivation ☺ This transformation has taken me 6 long years, not 1 or 2 years, but 6 years with HEAVY weights. I can assure you that you will never achieve a big ass with only light weights or body weight training. Furthermore you have to eat A LOT in order to stay in anabolic state and grow.
