Book 17 - #WordsInDeepBlue by #CathCrowley
So after I read the two books I took on my work trip too quickly, I needed something for the flight home. After just enjoying #GraffitiMoon , I saw this one in the airport bookshop. Was a lovely, very romantic book set in a second-hand bookshop that featured a Letters Library, a space where people annotated favourite parts in a book and exchanged letters - such a sweet concept.
With its alternating chapters by Rachel and Henry, plus letters from a range of people, the book had a similar feel to Graffiti Moon - it was probably too much of a good thing reading these two books so closely together.
Again though, the prose by the author was so lovely... - "If they were just words we wouldn't listen to songs, we wouldn't beg to be read to when we're kids. If they were just words, then they'd have no meaning and stories wouldn't have been around since before humans could write. We wouldn't have learnt to write. If they were just words then people wouldn't fall in love because of them, feel bad because of them, ache because of them, stop aching because of them, have sex, quite a lot of the time, because of them."
