We have finally finished the new bedroom refurbishment of our Monet bedroom. I am really sorry but you will have to wait a while longer for the reveal as we can’t share the photos with you just yet.
In the meantime here is our Degas bedroom, or as Steve describes it, “The pink room”.
We have been here 16 years, and Steve still can’t remember the bedroom names. It drives me nuts!
I think he knows them really, but pretends not to, just go wind me up. So the Degas becomes , the pink room, the Sisley becomes, the green room, The Renoir becomes, the one with the gold bath and so it goes on.....
Maybe I should start calling the Garage, “the one with the clapped out, rusty old MG” and see how he likes that. ....
Anyway, enough of all that tit for tat 😍, let’s talk The Degas bedroom.
Not the biggest of our bedrooms, it’s still one of MY favourites and also very popular with our guests. All of rooms have their own unique look, there is no uniformity to any of them- just the way I like it.
In essence, I think it’s a very romantic room. The beautiful vintage French bed, the subtle pink painted walls, the silky curtains and of course, the roll top bath all add their own, “je ne sais quoi” to the room.
Last year, when we refurbished the room, we added the ceiling rose. It was one of three that we purchased from a company in Scotland @reproductionplasterco and fitted them ourselves, despite being told it really wasn’t a diy job. All the pieces you see on the photo are individually attached to the ceiling. There is quite a bit of measuring up to do before you start to ensure that the positioning is correct. I will post a vidéo in my stories so you can see what we did.
Enjoy yours Sunday everyone. ❤️ - 15 hours ago
