Throwback to nimbler days
A quality about myself that I recognise and am very gratful for is my physical curiosty and willingness to pursue Activities that I want try. I've always been excited by physicality and if a movement discipline catches my eye and I want to give it a crack, chances are very high that I will. I think too many people get it into their heads that they need to
be GOOD at something to do it. You don't. You need to ENJOY yourself. There are SO many cool things you could do with your body that you have never tried. Like right now you could decide that you want to train for the splits and you can. It may take two years but you'll be able to do it!
Another weird thing is that sometimes people think that they can't do something because they aren't that type of person. Here's a truth bomb. You are capable of doing nearly anything at any time. You're just mostly programmed not to try. Your personality, to a degree, is an artifice. Stopping yourself from trying something new because 'you don't do that' is pretty dumb because you don't really do anything
until you do. And why wouldn't you do that? Because it doesn't fit 'who you are?' You make the decisions on 'who you are'. Have the confidence to do exactly what you want to do.
Here's another truthbomb. You're probably going to feel super self conscious and think people are staring at you. People probably won't even pay attention to you. Free yourself from the shame of beginning something new. Place no pressure on yourself and you'll be amazed at how much you enjoy sucking.
Life is short, try some shit! Suck at some shit! Get better at it, or don't. It doesn't matter. Just have fun. - 16 minutes ago
