I can identify all too closely with this quote at the current time. Getting through the day as a "non-smoker" is all I'm concentrating on at the moment. It's been almost 7 days so far and I hate to admit, I got to the point of "begging" for a cigarette a few times (which thankfully was never given to me).
Yup, I said the "B" word 😳 It's exactly that which keeps me from picking up another cancer stick! If you get to the point you need to "Beg" for money, a smoke, drugs, junk food, alcohol, sex, etc. (AKA #addiction ), STOP, take a step back and ask yourself, "WTF am I doing?"
🙄Yes, #acknowledgement of any issue/addiction is uncomfortable.
😕Yes, #acceptance of said issue/addiction is also uncomfortable.
😳Yes, #withdrawal is uncomfortable.
😥Yes, creating new habits/routine can be terrifying.
🤔Yes, it does take a change in perspective, alongside the realization that you ARE worthy of healing!!
If you continue down the path of self destruction, it will eventually lead to what seems like your entire world spinning out of control and will drag you kicking and screaming along for the ride. This can include, but is not limited to: car accidents, self-harm, rape, suicide attempts, verbal/physical/sexual/mental abuse and trauma, casual sex, more addictions, overdose, cancer and/or death.
You are worth more than that. SO, SO much more!! Yes, you took that first puff, drink or hit, but the reason why is insignificant in comparison to this plain and simple fact: YOU ARE KILLING YOURSELF!!
Isn't it time to stop devaluing all the beauty that is you? Isn't it time to finally deal with the pain, forgive and begin to heal?
