➡️what are your favorite Brouwer's pieces?⬅️ Hello friends from all ofer the world!
I decided to share this enigmatic excerpt of one of my favorite #contemporarymusic compositions: Hika, compelled by the #brouwerchallenge that was started by my fellow colleagues from Europe. The challenge itself if all about Brouwer's etudes(I will be posting about them this week!!!)but I feel it as an overall tribute to his amazing #musicalcreation .
I have probably never shared this, but it was #leobrouwer who inspired me to become a classicalguitarist. When I was 10 years old,and was an absolute beginner just starting her first semester at the elementary school of music, and with no idea about the possibilities of the guitar and not even a clue about how to play it,Leo Brower had a beautiful initiative: to create a kid's guitar orchestra of 100 guitars, that would open the Festival de La Habana,in 2001.I was one of the kids of that orchestra.Being conducted by Leo,hearing his insights on music, was, for me,a revelation, and a total priviledge. His musicality and genius inundated the space, and made me fell in love with the instrument.
☺I am proud of being #cuban ,and been born in the same land as this great master.☺However,Brouwer's music is not only cuban: it is UNIVERSAL,as it expresses the deepest of human emotions, and has no boundaries. And that is why,it is always a music that unites. His languange is a universal form of art.
In moments like these, with all that is going on in the world,we need to be reminded of this particular message hidden in Leo Brouwer's music: that we are all #citizensoftheworld .We are all in this together, and we will get throught!Solidarity and compassion should be our way through. - 4 hours ago
