How to Stop Stress Eating 🍔
We are currently living through extremely stressful times.
If you find yourself responding by “stress eating,” know that you are not alone.
Particularly at this current time.
“What exactly is stress eating?”
Stress eating is consuming food in response to negative emotions like fear, anger, or sadness.
This may come as a surprise, but a lot of the time, the biggest things that can hold you back from the body you want isn’t too much food, or the wrong training program, is things like STRESS. So it’s really important we get things like strew under control.
Here’s some of my top tips to combat stress and as a result stress eating:
✳️ Close your eyes and perform breathing exercises such as 5 second inhaled and 5 second exhales for 60 seconds;
✳️ Hydration is SO important, Drink a large glass of water, you might just be thirsty;
✳️ Go for a walk - exposure to natural sun light is not to be sniffed as as a remedy;
✳️ Listen to your favourite music
✳️ Stretch - not only will it help your lifts, but it releases tension in the body, which reduces stress;
✳️ Play with your dog - 15 minutes of petting a dog has been proven to help reduce stress levels (as if you needed anymore great reasons to get one).
✳️ Challenging exercise - this helps completely reset your emotions!
