Rotational power training progression with a med ball. The goal here is to increase the effect of the stretch shortening cycle with each progression (think of a spring-what happens when you squeeze a spring and then release it rapidly? Imagine one of those spring loaded pens that can be clicked to open and close. If you click down on it and then let go it will go flying. May or may not have gotten me in trouble once or twice). More eccentric load=more explode.
-We will move from static to dynamic
-Find and feel position->Should be able to feel the back of your hip and the inside of the thigh. -Med Ball Scoop Toss
-Scoop Toss w drop catch/fall
-Lateral Heiden w scoop toss
-2-3 sets of 5-8 reps at the beginning of your workout 2-3x/week should be plenty. We want enough reps to create a stimulus and some learning but not so much that we create fatigue. It’s important that the INTENT IS HIGH. Imagine you are actually trying to break the fucking wall! If you are fatigued it will take away from high intent and you’ll basically just be doing conditioning.
-Golfers that live in a state where you are stuck inside for 4-6 months out of the year and don’t have a golf simulator or any fancy equipment
-All you need is a ball and a wall and you can continue to practice and improve your rotational movement and power with exercises such as these. Golf season is getting close here in Chicago, what are you doing to prepare for the season?

❌SET BACKS AND INJURIES🦴

I'm a believer that you can't always control what happens, but you can control how you deal with it.
▪️
Almost everyone suffers from some sort of injury or set back in their life. That's just the nature of it. ▪️
3 years ago today I had surgery to repair the torn ligaments in my ankle. This injury stopped me from doing any leg dominant exercises for a year an a half. ▪️
Hard work, consistency and progressive overload has helped me get to where I am now, and I will continue to apply those principles until I reach my next goal, what ever it may be. ▪️
