Have you ever caught yourself saying something like: "If I'm good this week, I can treat myself with a slice of cake this weekend."?
Or what about: "2 more miles on the treadmill, then I can go home and make breakfast!"?
These are sayings I used to say to myself ALL THE TIME when I was struggling with my relationship with food and as I reflect back on it, it absolutely breaks my heart that I thought that food I loved had to be EARNED 😭
If you've caught yourself saying similar to yourself, I want to remind you of a few things:
✨ Food is ESSENTIAL! We need food for energy and to keep all processes in our body working properly
✨ There is no such thing as "bad" food. Yes, there are foods that obviously help our body function better, but going out on a date night to McDonald's this weekend won't suddenly throw off your months of progress
✨ Don't compare your food to others on the internet. Just because you see your favorite influencer eating fancy smoothies and grain bowls all day does not mean eating like this will align with your individual goals, genetics, needs, lifestyle. Everyone is different and you have to figure out what specifically works for you
✨ When you allow yourself to eat more of what you love, you'll enjoy eating more. I LOVE tacos, but obviously I don't want to go to taco bell every day of the week. Instead, I learned to make taco bowls from home - saves me money and nurtures my body better!
