Overwhelmed at the response to our Modes of Capture Symposium 2020.
Massive thanks to the presenters and movers who shared their beautiful work (virtually) with us from all over the world.
And to the 250+ amazing attendees who came out in force to spend the two days with us - we are truly touched!
We were delighted to be able to bring the Modes of Capture Symposium online this year as part of @dublindancefestival 2020 Digital Capsule. A fantastic opportunity to share the thoughts and ideas of a group of exceptional dancers, scholars and choreographers offering workshops, recorded presentations, live streamed discussions and movement/performance responses.
This year's theme was "Dance Transmission Across Distance & Time: Addressing our dynamic dancing present in relation to our shared lineages and possible futures" exploring how dance artists exchange knowledge and experiences across extended networks and through multiple generations that span distance and time. It asks how we might reimagine ways of artistic exchange and how we think about legacy and connection in light of current social and environmental realities.
The Symposium is made possible through IntraSpaces, a creative partnership between Liz Roche Company and the @irishworldacademy of Music and Dance @universityoflimerick , with support this year from Dublin Dance Festival as part of their 2020 Digital Capsule.
Modes of Capture 2020 was curated by Dr Jenny Roche (Course Director of the MA in Contemporary Dance at the Irish World Academy, UL) and Liz Roche (Choreographer and Artistic Director Liz Roche Company).
Liz Roche Company is Strategically Funded by the @artscouncilireland and supported by @dublincitycouncil
