We don't speak to each other in the morning.🤐 Not one word.
We're pretty hardcore about our mornings. From the time we wake up at 4:50am until around 9am, our days look the exact same, 7 days per week.
We start out with an hour of meditation, affirmations and visualization. Then we do some yoga, reading, writing, and planning our day. For those that have read the Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod (📚great book!) this will look familiar.
By 7am, we're ready to get to work with our first Deep Work Block, which we do diligently without distractions, before checking our phones or email. This is all done without willpower, effort, or distraction, as we've built this habit over time.
We're both so committed to our personal practice, because we know that this is what helps us really start the day off strong, which means we can show up better for each other throughout the day. The most important thing that we can do each day is take care of ourselves first - just like putting on your own oxygen mask first in the airplane. We honor that sacred time that is so important to keeping our relationship strong and thriving.
Self-care will look different for everybody. But no matter what, even if it's just a few minutes each morning, be sure to start your day off intentionally, before any other inputs. Whether it's reading a book to improve an area of your life, going for a jog, meditating, or planning out your day, take the time to steer your day in the right direction, before the business of the world has time to get to you.
You have the most control over your mornings, and they set the pace for the rest of your day. Compound mornings like these and you can see what direction your life is headed. If you'd like to level up in any area, start with your mornings.
So, what is one thing that you could start doing tomorrow morning that you know will improve your life when done consistently?
It may require waking up 10 minutes earlier (& going to bed 10 minutes earlier), but if optimizing your life is important to you, then it is worth making the change! 👇Let us know in the comments what you are going to add to your morning routine starting tomorrow!
