Despite a wide variety of dietary options available, a prolonged controversy still exists about optimal nutritional plans for cardiometabolic patients, which contributes to the challenges faced by clinicians while caring for these patients. A poor diet is a major contributor in exacerbating the impacts of the cardiometabolic disease; as well as a leading contributor to morbidity and mortality worldwide. However, defining proper nutrition for cardiometabolic disease is challenging and can be very controversial. 
To gain more insight in this area, we had an opportunity to talk with Stephen Devries, MD, FACC, a preventive cardiologist, and Executive Director of the Gaples Institute for Integrative Cardiology, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the role of nutrition and lifestyle in medicine.

La insulina es una hormona que, por lo general, produce el páncreas, y que ayuda a regular el nivel de azúcar en sangre. La hiperinsulinemia es una señal de un problema oculto.
Con mayor frecuencia, la hiperinsulinemia se debe a la resistencia a la insulina, una afección en la que el cuerpo no responde bien a los efectos de la insulina. El páncreas intenta compensar esto produciendo una mayor cantidad de insulina. La resistencia a la insulina puede, con el tiempo, causar que tengas diabetes de tipo 2. Esto sucede cuando el páncreas ya no es capaz de compensar esta resistencia secretando la gran cantidad de insulina que se necesita para mantener la glucemia dentro de los valores normales.

En muy pocas ocasiones, la causa de la hiperinsulinemia es lo siguiente:

Un tumor poco frecuente de las células productoras de insulina del páncreas (insulinoma)

Una cantidad o un crecimiento excesivos de células productoras de insulina en el páncreas (nesidioblastosis)

Generalmente, la hiperinsulinemia no presenta signos o síntomas, excepto en las personas con insulinomas; en tales casos, puede provocar un nivel bajo de azúcar en sangre (hipoglucemia). El tratamiento de la hiperinsulinemia se dirige al problema oculto

Diabetes is scary sometimes 
Morning shower.. hits a low. And for me my whole body shakes. From the inside out.  One of the worst feelings to ever have. 
Of course grab some juice eat a cookie and I'm back ready to go.  But managing the disease is not easy. It's not smooth.  It can be unpredictable and lows can come when you least expect it.

1. You can still do everything and anything you want! You can do everything you could do before having diabetes. You are still freeeeee to live your life! 🦋

2. Be open about your diabetes. Don’t be afraid of judgment or rejection when being vocal. .

3. Love your bionic parts! They keep you alive, and make you unique!
.
4. Potential Partners and friends don’t care that you have diabetes, but care about who you are as a person and how much fun you have together! The right people and experiences will come to you if you are always being 💯! .
.
5.  Always be you!  this is your life, and you are the artist painting the canvas of your experience! No else can paint the picture but you! .
.
6. If you accept your diabetes, and live confidently with yourself, people will accept you too! Just the way you are!

7. People won’t feel any different about you after you tell them you have type one diabetes.

8.  You can still be sexy and have diabetes😉!
.
9. Don’t hide your diabetes from any man. The right man for you will accept you having diabetes, and love every part of you. You are beautiful, fun, and kind! The man who gets you is going to be so lucky.

10. You are here to live YOUR life, make YOUR decisions, based on no one‘s expectations but YOURS! Not your parents, not your friends, not societies, and not diabetes! .

Modo de preparo:

Cozinhe as bananas e a batata com água por 30 minutos ou até ficarem macias. Descasque-as e, ainda quente, passe-as no espremedor. Acrescente o sal, a pimenta e o manjericão. Deixe esfriar. Junte a farinha e misture bem. Faça rolinhos com a massa e corte em pedaços de 1,5 centímetros. Ferva 4 litros de água e cozinhe os nhoques até subirem à superfície. Retire rapidamente com uma escumadeira. Escorra e sirva com molho de tomate.

Manzanas 🍎 con avena

Una idea novedosa para comer manzanas ya sea de desayuno, snack o cuando quieran. Queda rico también con 🍐 o 🍌

Ustedes deciden!!!
Ingredientes:
-	1 manzana
-	3 cdas de harina de avena
-	1 huevo
-	Canela

Procedimiento:
1. Cortar la manzana como gusten (en rodajas, o asi como yo)
2. Licuar el huevo con la harina de avena y la canela
3. Sumergir los pedazos de manzana en la mezcla y colocarlo en un sarten.
4. Cocinar bien de ambos lados hasta que queden tostaditos, aproximadamente  1:30 min cada lado.
5. Acompañar con miel, peanut butter o yogurt

Guarden la recta asi la hacen en estos días y me cuentan si la hacen 🤩
