In this 18th episode, I am featuring a virtual collaboration with my dear friend, wonderful pianist, and fabulous coach from The Juilliard School, @adamreednielsen. This is a new piece for me and I am very excited to share it with all of you. After yet another week of staying home, I have decided to dedicate my time to learning more about the composers who created the gorgeous pieces I am presenting to all of you. I would love for you to comment below if you know/admire something about Glinka so we can learn together.
#DidYouKnow these 3 fun facts about Glinka:
1) Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka (1804-1857) was a Russian composer, regarded as the father of Russian music. He wrote 2 operas: Ivan Susanin and Ruslan and Lyudmila.
2)Glinka’s music is important because he was the first Russian composer to write music that sounded Russian.
3)Later composers like Tchaikovsky were influenced by his music.
Thank you for watching and for your lovely comments! Sending everyone love and hoping to brighten your day. ❤🎶😍👏🏼 Please feel free to share our episodes: https://www.youtube.com/user/maggiereneemusic with your friends and family around the world as we are all in this together and we will overcome this - so stay strong!! ❤

Between the sky and the earth
A song is heard
An unending stream of sound
Pours louder, louder.
Unseen is the singer in the field
Where sings so loudly
Above his mate
The sonorous skylark.
The wind carries the song,
To whom, it does not know.
She to whom it is sung,
She will understand who it is from.
Pour on, my song
Of sweet hope
Someone remembers me
And sighs furtively. - 3 minutes ago
