As someone who will always be in recovery (eating disorder), cooking can be the most dangerous of games. I don't know how long now I've been incident free -- you'd think I would, because that is an important date, but I think I don't want to obsess about it, so I put it out of my mind. That said, it's been a LONG time. I'm trying to appreciate food more, really savor the flavors, experiment, really try to make things more than just heat and eat. .
The quarantine has forced my hand. I've been trying to enjoy food and drink, on my own, which used to be T-E-R-R-I-F-Y-I-N-G.... But I'm getting better, and tonight I made the delicious concoction you see above. Onions, minced garlic, bell peppers, jalapeños and smoked sausages. I cut the sausages up, added ketchup and wrapped them up in a tortilla. SO. GOOD. .
Recovery is possible. Every day is a new battle. But the more battles you win, the closer to winning the war you get. .
