This was another lovely coffee that we discovered from our importing partner @sharedsource that really impressed us on the tasting table.
It features in a lot of our blends because it is a very "classic" Colombian, in that it has lovely chocolate and nutty notes, but it still has complexity and a lovely mouth feel. It's not boring by any stretch of the imagination, despite how approachable it is.
Nariño is a very remote part of Colombia that produces some really lovely coffees because of it's rich volcanic soil, distinct seasons, and small producers.
This coffee is grown on Finca (farm) El Porvenir, which is owned by Marisol who processes her coffee herself rather than sending it to someone else to do so, which means our importer could buy direct from her and give her more money. They paid 24% above the local price for this coffee to help support her and help grow her business.
