Intermittent fasting is a way of organizing your diet into an 8 hour eating period, followed by a 16 hour fast.👍🏼 Now you can alter these two window periods as much as you’d like, and what works in your lifestyle is best!👌🏼

The goal here is to keep your window of eating smaller than usual leading you hopefully into a caloric deficit. This method usually is effective because it is very difficult to eat a mass amount of calories in an 8 hour window.

Fasting for prolonged time allows time for the body to clean itself internally and rejuvenate your cells! .
Some may fast for even a 24 hour period at times, and others for faith purposes. It allows time for reflection, and does give you more insight on yourself in regards to how you see food.

Water and Coffee become very useful during this period to stay hydrated and alert at times where we feel we might slip up or crave some food.
.
This diet method does work if done consistently, and in about 1-2 months you can see a noticeable change, and remember it’s because you end up being in a deficit.

Figure out which times of the day you don’t really need to eat and pick that prime eating time where you know you will need quality energy and focus (usually at work, or training session).

1000+ calories still free after all foods logged ✔️ Start the week off as I mean to go. Getting my workouts in, taking plenty of fluids on, eating the right things but still in a deficit and getting my NEAT up to smash the step goals.

No magic pill or formula is gonna get me to hit my targets its about working smartly and keeping myself accountable for everything.

2 weeks ago my college top felt a bit on the tight side due to the aftermath of the festive period. Now I can feel a little bit of room in it. Might be a little bit of space but it's a big boost in confidence the weight is coming off

It’s Chinese New Year week! And that means a a fun-filled time with family, friends and food. Amidst the endless gatherings and tempting #ChineseNewYear goodies, it is easy for us to let our hair down and indulge in whatever is presented to us - but not without guilt .

There are lots of sweets and savoury #chinesenewyeargoodies that makes it so festive, but if you have type 2 diabetes, especially with chronic kidney disease, you need to watch the amount and type of sweets, savoury snacks and dishes .

Watching the waistline inches pile on can be quite depressing — so here are some tips on how to enjoy this festive season without worrying about busting your healthy diet! .

1️⃣ Watch your portions. That goes without saying, but that doesn’t mean you have to deny yourself that extra cookie. Limit your snacking to just 1 or 2 pieces per snack. Another way to snack less is to talk more! Opt for a smaller plate to pace yourself and limit your intake. Big plates tend to encourage bigger quantity of food and you definitely don’t want to overeat, especially if you’ve got dinner after dinner lined up .

2️⃣ Stay active is super important not only for your weight loss efforts but just your health in general. Include a workout schedule amidst the festivities and stick to it .

3️⃣ Instead of white rice or bee hoon, serve unpolished rice or brown rice bee hoon or buckwheat noodle as these whole-grains food are abundant in nutrients and fibre .

4️⃣ Recognize that it’s OK to say 'no' to second servings or drinking even though your favourite Aunty is wanting to shove more food into your face - make your health a priority

Remember - It's not about being perfect; it's about doing your best and ALWAYS getting back on track. Enjoy the celebrations. Enjoy the festivities!

Goooooood Moooorning! I’m currently at work, locked out of my computer so I thought it would be a perfect time to say HAPPY MONDAY. I meal prepped last night, starting this week off strong. Had a litre of lemon water this morning and now sipping my oxyshred and red bull and water lol lots of liquids. How are y’all doing this morning? What are some of your goals this week? -starting wearing my Fitbit again! Goal is 8k steps but always aiming for 10,000 just don’t want to disappoint myself.

✅Remember that it will be over. Winter sucks but it’s going to be over eventually. Summer bodies are made in the winter. Focus on your goals and the time will pass. ⁣

✅Train hard and get a decent sweat in. Chug a ☕️ and go for a workout. Push yourself and keep busy so that you don’t have time to be down about the cold. Try to hang around some positive people so that you can get excited.⁣

✅Treat yourself with your feast. I do a daily feast after fasting all day. This means that I can eat my fave foods with the occasional treat when my soul needs it. Your soul definitely needs a little treat on a day like this. ⁣

That’s what I’m doing today to stay positive. I really used to hate January. I’ve been doing my best the last few years to use January to build momentum for the rest of the year.⁣

At first I didn't plan on sharing the photo on the right for obvious reasons, but honestly going to take a page out of 12 year old selfs book & say YOLO ✌

Posted @withregram • @fitnessreloaded Do you feel hungry all the time? 🤨 Cravings, hunger hormones, or stress can all be reasons why your brain starts to get convinced that what it is actually feeling is hunger, but that’s far from the truth. 🤓 👌Here are some quick signs to differentiate between what’s real hunger (stomach hunger) versus what we call an appetite or cravings (brain hunger): 👇 🤤 Hunger: There are physiological symptoms such as hunger pangs, a growling stomach, etc.
✋ Appetite: You show no such physical symptoms 🤤 Hunger: You are hungry for food and this means you’re willing to eat anything served to you. ✋ Appetite: You crave for a particular type of food, something salty, or cheesy, or sweet. 🤤 Hunger: It is easy to confuse thirst with hunger, and so you decide to drink a glass of water first. You drank water and waited for ten minutes but still feel hungry. ✋ Appetite: You drank water and no longer feel any cravings coming up. 🤤 Hunger: You have noticed that your hunger has built up over time.
✋ Appetite: Your hunger popped out of nowhere and the feeling goes away just as quickly when you distract yourself.

Sad to leave Haiti but happy to be on my way home and back on plan. I feel so good to be tracking again. 
What a wonderful week of ministering to the Haitian people. I can't wait to return soon.
Until then, I'll keep grinding and working hard and praying for God's next step for me.

I have big news.. or, well, big to me! 👍 I joined WW (Weight Watchers) again and was assigned to the 💚 green plan 💚! This means my journey with iTrackBites has ended. I still recommend that app - I just needed something different to keep me accountable & shake things up. 😊

I fell out of love with WW when Smart Points came out years ago as I was spoiled by Points Plus. It was hard to adjust and I was resistant to change. 🤯 It blew my mind wondering why I'd want to switch from a plan where I had lost over 50lbs with and led to a yoyo game with the weight. Now, being a handful of years older, I'm ready to give it another shot because I have loved WW since 2014 and have gained so much insight & wisdom since then ❤

I started the day off on the green plan 💚 with a simple hash! Frozen Great Value hashbrown potatoes, Johnsonville cheddar Turkey sausage, chopped pimentos & onions, yellow corn & an egg! I topped it with Bolthouse Avocado Salsa Verde & reduced fat cheese 😋
