Soon, perhaps too soon, the stony path led us out to the river, turning into a more earthy one. With losing about 200 elevation meters, we left the rocky highlands and came now to the more “live-friendly” place with splashing water and growing grass.
Being now in the shadow of majestic mountains and leaving mighty Olperer, Schrammkopf, Rieperkopf and their neighbours behind our backs we continued descending along the river until we got into an amazing valley pierced with numerous streams and facing the glacier of Vordere Weißenspitze.
That was a totally lovely place and I would have enjoyed staying there a bit longer if it wasn’t so cold – the dale laid in the shadow of tall mountains and the chill wind reminded that it was the middle of autumn already. - 7 hours ago
