I went on a nice hike yesterday for my rest day, around 3.5 miles. There were some steep stairs that my legs were not psyched for 😅 Today I finished Legs & Glutes of Week 2!!! Those timed exercises though 🥵 Some exercises were easier than last week and some were harder with the whole timed thing. I’ve already looked at the rest of the week and I’m trying to not psych myself out. 🥦FRUIT & VEGGIES = HEALTHY? 😳⁠

As a little boy I seriously HATED fruits and vegetables!⁠

Fun fact - today I have a great relationship with them!⁠

Since I knew fruits and vegetables were important, I got suckered by commercials and I used to drink at least a bottle of this V8 Fusion juice per day 🤦‍♂️⁠

Is V8 Fusion bad for you? No, not exactly. It does contain actual fruits and vegetables.⁠
.⁠
The issue is that it’s so high in calories and if you’re going to rely on it for your daily fruit and vegetable intake, you’ll most likely be using up the majority of your daily carb intake on it.⁠
.⁠
If you look at the fine print on the back, it even states “not a low calorie food” and further states that a serving contains 1/2 cup of vegetables and 1/2 cup of fruits while then stating that it’s recommended to consume 2.5 cups of vegetables and 2 cups of fruit per day.⁠
.⁠
To reach those numbers from V8, you’d be consuming 4-5 servings and well over 100 grams of carbs.⁠
.⁠
Is this better than soda and Gatorade? Sure!⁠
.⁠
However, I’m not a fan of any liquid calories simply because they don’t satisfy hunger while contributing to your overall daily calories.⁠
.⁠
It’s easy to recognise soda as something to avoid but something like V8 Fusion does a good job marketing itself as healthy so that you forget it’s also loaded with calories.⁠

You’re better off with actual fruits/veggies which are much lower in calories and can help satisfy your hunger.⁠

A walk to end the week 🚶‍♀️
So proud of keeping to my goals! I had planned to do another core workout either on Thursday or yesterday but I was super soce from my strength training workouts so I decided on taking rest days instead. Also proud of myself for prioritizing my long walks. Took one with the stroller and two by myself in the evenings. The one by myself is some much needed alone time and I really do love them! 
On to week 4 of shred. The last week before I switch back to tone 😍
