⭕The next points you need to consider is your mobility. If you can’t squat below parallel, you won’t recruit as many muscles fibers as during the leg press. Furthermore there are even more points like: your biomechanics, anatomy and old injuries that also play an important role.⁣

⭕I don’t say that a leg press is better than a squat! Some people are able to squat upright and others don’t. There are also some shitty leg presses on the market, so don’t think that one exercise is always better than the other.⁣

⭕All in all there is no perfect exercise for everyone, if it feels uncomfortable change your stance, do some mobility, check your technique and ask a good trainer to help you. After you did all this you can finally compare different exercises and come to a conclusion. ⁣

If you want to stay strong when you age, lift weight. 
I don’t have a so called leg day which put all leg exercises on the same day in the week . Instead I include a few butt and leg exercises three days a week, and I would make sure the week would would include:
- barbell back squat - barbell deadlift
- single leg exercise (eg split squat, single leg deadlift)
- exercise that train the lateral side of the butt and leg - power training (eg Olympic lifting, kettlebell)
Everyone’s program should be different based on different purpose and condition. Don’t just follow what others do without knowing the reason behind. If you have a professional PT, he/she should design the program suitable for you. .
Barbell back squat - 20kgx15 / 45kgx10 / 55kgx8x2sets / 55kgx5
Hip Thrust - 49kgx12 / 59kgx10 / 63kgx8x2sets
Lateral step up body weight - 15x4sets
