1️⃣ FOCUS ON THE PROCESS- You can still see amazing results in your 50’s but it’s an over all healthy lifestyle that’s bringing it. The days of quick fixes, easy fat loss or quickly building muscle are gone. Hunker down for the long haul. Consistency and lifestyle are🗝.⠀
2️⃣ FOCUS ON HOW YOU FEEL- although we like to think all our workouts should just get better and we should be stronger day in and day out, it’s just not possible at this point. That doesn’t mean your workouts are a waste, it means you need listen to your body. You’ll have more ups and downs as opposed to just ups. Some days you feel like a rock ⭐️ and others like 💩. Listen to your bod and honor it. ⠀
3️⃣ LIFT LIGHTER- News ⚡️now is NOT the time for consistently lifting overly heavy. Instead, focus on VOLUME and muscular contraction(feeling that muscle work). That doesn’t mean you can’t lift challenging or get stronger, it’s shifting your focus to lighter weight with moderate/higher volume training. Better for your joints and injury prevention.⠀
4️⃣ DONT GET HURT- recovery over 50 is a bitch...nothing will slow you down faster. There’s no need to be the strongest, fastest person in the gym. Let the ego go and take care of your body. You need to be consistent to make progress and if you’re injured it ain’t gunna happen.⠀
5️⃣RECOVER LIKE A ROCK STAR- at this point recovery isn’t an after thought, it’s part of the program. Training is only 1 part of your over all fitness, recovery is the other. Massages, Chiro, mobility, stretching, taking days off should NOT be skipped. ⠀

Squats and pause deads tonight... I had to rerack after doing one rep because I didn't like the way the bar felt on my shoulders. I always have trouble telling if it's centered when I first unrack (hence the pause at the beginning of the first rep). The second unrack and walkout was much smoother.

In the last 2 weeks has been struggle for me to keep my immune system on top. Weather change, pollen, dust etc, some of them knocked me down ( yes I know I can be sick too, I am not a Superman, doesn’t mean as personal trainer I can’t be unwell. I have tried some natural immunity booster, yes it helps. Just remember to let your body rest.. it’s switch off time for me, I’ll be back slowly to where I left before... KEEP GRINDING and STAY HEALTHY EVERYONE...

Leg day was great! Also it's a great way to build overall  strength. If you skip leg day  you are hurting yourself.  I ended the work out with some pull ups!!!

There has been a huge shift in the fitness industry where people are making it seem ok to do less than your best.

They’re telling you that it’s ok to eat shit food. That it’s ok to go through the motions. That it’s ok to eat that piece of cake. That it’s society’s fault that people are overweight and out of shape.

Here’s the truth that you may not want to hear.

If you want to transform your physique you’re going to have to work your damn ass off.

If you’re overweight right now it’s because of the choices you’ve made. You choose the food that you eat and you choose the amount of activity you do each day.

It doesn’t matter how many hours you work or how many kids you have. There are plenty of people that work all day, raise a family and still get it done. 
#
So even though some “fitness pros” are going to tell you that it’s ok to settle for less than your best, I’m here to tell you that you’re capable of more. 
#
You’re capable of changing everything about your life that you want to change. BUT, you’re going to have to work for every second of it. 
#
And guess what, that also means making sacrifices. 
#
And that requires DISCIPLINE. 
#
Want to lose fat? Then you’re going to need to have the discipline to not give into every single craving you have. 
#
Want to build muscle? Well you might have to sacrifice your TV time and get your training in. 
#
Don’t buy into the nonsense about balance, unicorns and rainbows. 
#
It doesn’t matter what level of experience you have. It doesn’t matter what your circumstances are. It doesn’t matter how afraid you are to start. 
#
You can fucking change all of that!

But there will be a price to pay for it. And that price is always worth it.

So if you want it to change, don’t expect there to be an easy road. If you’re a fitness pro promoting this nonsense you aren’t doing the people who need you most any good.

There needs to be an understanding that like anything else worth having, health and physical transformation require hard fucking work.
