Everything that is going on with #WorkFromHome movement is kinda familiar for freelancers, especially for those who are doing this for years. I'm one of them. Get my tips on being productive at home.
Dedicated workplace ~ It's essential to have a harbor of productivity at home. It's a place where everything encourages you to be focused and creative, like tech devices, motivational posters, moodboards, special desk, etc.
Get up as early as possible ~ Preferably at the same time each day to trick your mind like you’re going to the office so the chances for a slack are lower.
Replace work commute with a morning workout ~ Even 5-10 min to warm up your muscles will help your brain get more nutrients and work efficiently during the day. As a bonus, you get a positive mood.
Prepare a to-do list a night before ~ Having a clear plan at the beginning helps your brain to concentrate and get into flow rather wonder and be stuck among endless variations of what to do next.
Kick off the to-do list with either "small victories" or "the hardest task first" ~ These two techniques are pretty popular. I find them both effective depending on personal preferences. Sometimes, I start with the complicated task that consumes vast energy. On other days, I start with small to-do's that can be outlined swiftly from the list.
Schedule your work to keep yourself in shape preventing procrastination ~ Adding a bit of structure to your agenda at home will help simulate the working environment of the office.
Set yourself a daily reward ~ A movie, favorite snack, meditation, a video call with someone you love, etc. at the end of the day would be great. Allowing yourself a small celebration will reduce the stress of being cut from the socializing outdoors.
Make a note somewhere visible ~”The lockdown is temporary. When it's over you will enjoy your normal life even more than ever.”~ #freelance #freelancetips #freelancer #stayhome #workfromhome #design #designertips #designerlife #smallbusiness #workprocess #designprocess #inspiration #individualentrepreneur #dailywork #businesstips #coronavirus #productivitytips #selfimprovement - 3 minutes ago
