Daenerys Targaryen - “Mother of Dragons”. 🔥🐉🐉🐉🔥
I had been intrigued by Daenerys from the moment I read her first chapter in AGOT, but being more interested in House Stark and Baratheon, I paid less heed to her on the first read. It was not until her final two chapters that I became utterly enraptured, and especially the closing moments when she truly becomes the Mother of Dragons.
In the TV adaptation, Emilia Clarke played a lovely Daenerys, but she was straightforward with little mystery. In the book series, Dany has been the subject of so many theories it used to boil my brain engaging with others on the topic back when I was a regular on the Book Forum Boards. 🔥🐉🐉🐉🔥
From her birth amid the alleged greatest storm to ever hit Westeros that nobody mentions, to the House With the Red Door; to the Lemon Tree and the debate on Braavos’ climate in regards to said lemon tree; to the inconsistencies when we piece together the timeline using the info GRRM gives on Jon and Dany’s age difference; to marriage pacts involving Dorne and Viserys in the Sealord’s Palace in Braavos...
I do not think her arc will be as straightforward as the show, but I also do not think it need be as convoluted as most of the theories. What I do believe though, is that Daenerys is The Blood of The Dragon - of Aegon The Conqueror himself. And she is The Mother of Dragons. I look forward to her return in TWOW.
